I'm fairly new to guitar (three years) and I watch all of your videos and at first I was completely lost. But slowly it's been making more sense to me and today when you explained the Cuban thing a light came on for me and it felt amazing. So I just want to say thank you for taking the time to help people. It means a lot.

Drinking is so overrated lol. I’m 43, and decided to drop it 4+ years ago, when I met my lady who didn’t drink anymore. Best decision I ever made. We still have just as much fun, going out to eat with friends, and never do I feel like alcohol would enrich our lives these days

6:31 - I'm hearing a lot of "I'm going to try to" and not "I'm going to." As Yoda said, "Do or do not, there is no try" 😁 Looking forward to some of the Cuban guitar lessons. Best of luck in 25!

Hi Guthrie. Happy New Year and thanks for another great lesson. I really like how you break down the cords and associated scales/arpeggios. It all makes sense, but still takes a while to sink in. Perhaps it's because I started later in life and am a bit older than you (60). Anyway, you will LOVE Hawaii. I spent a lot of time there early in my career (tech sales) and try and get back to the islands as often as possible. Warm beaches and cool breezes. Go easy on the Mai Tia's as alcohol effects us differently as we age. Like you, I partied pretty hard in my youth, but eventually gave up all substances and now live a clean and healthy lifestyle. Diet, exercise, relationships, and mediation are the keys to a long happy life. In my humble opinion. Can't wait for more of you awesome lessons and stories in 2025 🤩

Looking forward to your upcoming videos and lessons this year Guthrie, wishing you all the best in 2025. Since you want to release some shorter videos this year, I would also suggest, there is so much informational gold in all the previous videos you have posted Guthrie, if you got an editor to just comb through them and chop out the purely educational content into short clips and categorise them, I think you would have an insane amount of high quality content in that alone, which can be shared and made accessible to people who normally avoid longer form content. Just an idea. Thanks for all the great content, you've helped my guitar playing and musicianship tremendously over the last few years.

I'm 64 in Murfreesboro. Punk is somewhat limited as a genre I think. Some of the better bands (The Ruts, The Skids) mixed it up with other 'genres.' I'm doing more investigating of the older stuff too. Like the standards and early jazz and country music. Songwriting with a buddy who just finished building his own studio. So looking forward to the new year down here in Rutherford. Hope yours is a good one too.
