Hello everyone, welcome back, to the third installment of Guts and Blackpowder: The Story Explained. Today we go over the newest update of Guts & Blackpowder and how it ties into the story, what it tells us about the lore, and how we take a part in this world of hopelessness and despair. Guts and Blackpowder is a game taking place during the Napoleonic Wars with the undead zombie masses rising from the ground. My personal theory is that the blight is just a regular disease, but since hell is full catching the disease and dying to it would cause you to essentially become a diseased walking corpse.

Good theory. But it wouldn't make sense as if it were a normal disease, you would only need a scratch from the zombies to infect you instantly. But instead, it's only viral via bites. It's your regular zombie virus. But the cool thing about this disease is that it needs exactly four bites for it to start the infection process and Priests are completely immune to the Blight virus. So if you're Christian, then you're basically completely immune.

Here is a theory. 9:00 Since lore wise hell is full and zombies are just dead people who were unable to go into hell there is a chance that the zombies you kill try to enter hell but since its still full they arrise somewhere else so i think it would make sense that the blight is unstoppable. And since heaven and hell exist there is a small percentage of chance that God is hearing the prayers of people and might try to help out hummanity to fight off the blight. Another theory is that God might be punishing hummanity for causing so much death durring the napoleonic wars and thats all.

Here's a fact: in 1565, Spanish forces colonized the Philippines up until 1898. Which means at the time of the Napoleonic War, if the blight somehow reached the Philippines, the Spanish are forced to make a temporary halt in colonization and have to recruit Filipinos. But since the game is revolved around Europe, There is a very low possibility that Cebu (The first Spanish-Filipino interaction and battle) or the Cagayan Valley (Northernmost Part of Luzon) are the maps.

In actual history a defeated French army quickly made pontoon bridges across river Berezina but is split in half because someone blew up the bridge early that was originally meant to stop the advancing Russian ps. Prussia getting screwed over in Guts and Blackpowder is actually funny because in history Prussia never really gained anything during the war.

@@Opezaculous Did a little research and found out that the blight might be able to reach the Philippines. Since Spain colonized the Philippines during 1565 to 1898. So maybe if Spain becomes overrun with the blight, then they could maybe retreat to the Philippines? maybe even bringing along some infected? Its an interesting idea but it would be very fun to play as Filipino Soldiers since they didn't have guns and would be very challenging.

in my opinion, Guts & Blackpowder represents the world vs humanity's constant ignorance and selfishness. The zombies would represent the world, and humanity is represented by the players. This situation is represented once you enter a match with your fellows, even though the world is ending, even though there are thousands upon thousands of zombies waiting up ahead, resources running low, even after all the zombies (the world) have thrown at you, humanity keeps going, desperately trying to break open a door that, no matter how many times it is kicked, it'll never open. This also kind of relates at how most G&B matches are lost, solidifying the fact that humanity is too ignorant or selfish, or both, to understand to stop trying, they are shown time and time again, that what they are trying to do will not work out, yet they keep colliding with the wall, they keep bashing their heads against the barrier that is represented by the zombies. These fellas amount to a bunch of things, they together form the world itself, nature, animals, planet earth. But more specifically, things that directly interact with human beings, things like struggles, dreams, tragedies, memories, all of these combined represent existence's, you could call it, "opinion" on humanity. But this truth is not absolute, because for every ten matches lost in G&B, one is won. Because human ignorance, and human determination are seperate things, there's a difference in between bashing your head against a wall and continuing after it doesn't work, and bashing your head against a wall, but not desperately sticking to the same method of getting through your problem, and thinking outside the box, going around the wall, climbing it, etc. This really encapsulates humanity as a whole, we push and we push, but until we understand the problem and ourselves, our hubris will get in the way and trip us over again and again and again. Once we understand the mangitude of things, the value of others and ours, is truly when we, different but together, can win san sebastian without anyone dying. or maybe it's just a very silly goober zombie napoleon game.

Tyrol is Austrian, during the Napoleonic Wars it was annexed to the Kingdom of Bavaria who were allied to Napoleon. The Austrian peasants rose up led by Andreas Hofer against the occupying Bavarians having some victories but Napoleon eventually gave the order to execute him, after a fair trial.

Saw you had some pronunciation problems, so figured I’d chime in to help you in the future. The end of Osterreicher is pronounced somewhat like bike, but with an r instead, so “Oster-rike” Württemburg is “Were-tem-berg” or “borg” depending on which you prefer, and Jäger, whom were basically just skilled hunters/riflemen in Germanic nations, is pronounced like “Ya-gur”. Something that I'd love to see at some point is a map in Alaska, as (to my memory) Alaska at the time is within Russian possession, and is only 2 miles away from mainland Russia. I think it'd actually be really interesting to fight in the harsh weather, whilst supplies are low. Maybe not a canon map, but lore implement could be that zombies started to wash up on the shore, or some fleeing boat was unknowingly carring the disease, as the were in a panic fleeing to Alaska, as its close, but blocked by cold water (they'd probably would've forgotten or didnt know that the cold doesn't bother the blight). But the idea of standing on a snowy hill, with the cold wind mimicking fog and just staring out into the cold, and seeing decaying figures come out from the wind is genuinely scary.

in the Bavarian Map. if you look the other way of the map, you can see hougoumont. Just way down the mountain (Or La Haye Sainte) (oh yeah and on a South Korean Zombie film, Rampant actually is a good SK film, showing a Zombie plague happening in the time of Muskets and swords being used and the Plague having a Parasite worm as they have to be dipped into a water bucket, for that worm to get out. the year in Rampant is Different this is during the Dynasty Kingdoms, from Korean, Japan. (not on the Mainland. since these are island places. the Undead doesnt come out at Day which is an impressive foreshadowing and having them come out during Night. and Running aswell.

As of 2nd part or the 1st pard you mentioned a newspaper and about the HMS undaunted that was the same ship on Vardøhus and also San Sebastián that picked you up was quarantined In Dover South of England and POSSIBLY their will be a new game mode or map or so where you are a British, French, or more that defends or has a Directive in Dover Another thing is that their might be a map in the Kingdom of Italy, Naples, Sicily, or Sardinia Due to the recent map in Tyrolean village located in Bavaria(Or in modern times possibly in Kitzbuhel, Austria) their might be a slight chance they'll add a map near those certain kingdoms. Plus a another map is possibly London because once again a in a Newspaper the HMS dauntless possibly was quarantined in Dover and that to the center of Dover and London they are 109.01 Kilometers or 67.73 Miles apart so you would possibly have once again a game mode or map having a Directive or any straight up Stranded or collapsing Town, City, or Village in that time of the huge British Empire.

My theory on how the Blight gets to the Americas is when the blight reaches Britain, the US will send troops to try to help and put down the disease, but when Britain gets overrun, the US and British troops will retreat to America, and one of the British or American troops will return with the Blight

I like the new berezina map really reminds me of nmrih maps where you wait for rescue tho in berezina you build a bridge to rescue yourself tho i do find it a bit strange that the pori regiment is an option for sweden it was disbanded 1809 after sweden got railed by russia in the finnish war and ofc lossing finland and as far as i know blight probably wouldnt have stopped the finnish war from happening unless they just assumed that its just another swedish regiment that is located in sweden and not finland oh boy how wrong they are ill probably never know if its in intentionally or just added it in without doing proper research like if it was still active at the time of the game events but i do think it would be interesting for me atleast to see a map for the nordic countries maybe a map on what happend to the guys that left vardo with hms undaunted or something else that might explain whats going on in the nordics

Ngl my theory for the first map chronically is Napoleon was marching into Russian (where the infection first started) and normal timeline happened, and Napoleon retreated from Moscow with the Russians cause the infected rose up and kill people (yk) but the Russians made a last stand somewhere near Moscow (that's why the first chronological map has no Russian battalion) and all died holding back the infected just for Napoleon to get to that river. But like Lepizag Mr trigger happy was on the bomb squad (once again) and blew it up luckily Napoleon was on the other side with Mr trigger happy and ran off into the sunset leaving his most of his battalion behind. For the other map they add my theory is Bavarian and Austrian troops ran through the whole of Eastern Europe and lost supplies leading to find supplies which led them to Tyrolean village and zombies came round making them have a last stand and dying. My best theory yet.

the tyrolean village looks to be inspired by the painting "Homecoming of Tyrolean Militia" by Franz Defregger in terms of design and general shape of the village me and a friend looked for a while for anything that resembles the village to no avail, but chalked it up to being inspired by the works of Franz Defregger
