Nice to see new reactors to Death Battle. Man, I always love seeing people react to Gut's backstory. His manga (aka Japanese comic book) is one of the greats, and his story of facing near impossible odds makes him easy to root for. Believe it or not, but the having sex with a demon thing, it is literally in the first chapter of the manga

Fun fact, that killing a demon that was disguised as a human thing is the first few panels of the manga. Also fun fact, when you read through the whole golden arc, that kill is a lot more interesting. But yeah Berserk is nuts. Guts has to deal with a lot despite being 100% human (well besides that movie thing where he can lift and take way more damage than any normal human can but in context of the story, he's just an extremely skilled man).

I've watched this Death Battle when it launched, way before getting into Berserk/knowing anything about it, even tho Death Battle made a lot of screw ups over its existence, even tho I was a fan of Soul Edge/Calibur franchise since the very first game, the result just felt... Right. Now, that i'm completely addicted to Berserk for about 3 years and know its TRUE message and meaning(never liked mangas/animes, but Berserk simply goes beyond that), Death Battle not only got the result right, but also Miura's message(rest in peace, legend), no matter how terrible the odds are against us, humans, if we have purpose, if we refuse to give up our lives, to give up on protecting the ones we love and care about, we find a way to defy even metaphorical demonic untouchable "gods", even if it kills us, but we won't go down without a fight, Berserk shows the very worst of humanity? Yes, but it also shows the very best, some people are willing to sacrifice the well being of others for their own selfish goals, and some people are willing to sacrifice their own well being to help others, people love to say the world is a fucked up place, but if you pay attention, you will see many examples of good people doing exactly that without the need of any recognition, and thats what keeps me going, call me naive, I don't give a fuck, I still see good, I still see hope, and I'll still give all of myself to at least try and help people around who need me in their time of need, whatever it costs, even after having some... bad stuff happened to me throughout my life, I might not be a saint, but i'd rather die than lower myself and become like the "demons" that caused these bad stuff, after all, eye for an eye = everybody gets blind in the end, i'm just a human being, flawed? For sure, we all are, but trying to do right by the ones I love and care, special? Fuck no, we are ALL capable of it

Nah, Guts is simply Guts. Any resemblance shared between him & another character was 100% a reference TO Guts.
