Fun fact: the misconception that Bugsy is a girl was so common that there was a scene in the Pokemon Adventures manga where Gold tried hitting on Bugsy, thinking he was a girl.

It apparently goes deeper than that: According to Bulbapedia, Pokémon Crystal has data to identify the gender of Trainer classes for the purposes of random dialogue, and Bugsy is one of the two male characters in the game to be identified as female for this purpose.

@@toonman5099 Hmm... well, while that's a nice thought, it doesn't look that way. There is a section in the manga where Gold mistakes Bugsy for a girl and asks him out on a date, but is soon disappointed by the truth. Bugsy's game dialogue is heavily about bug research, including in Masters, _but_ if you cherrypick one or two lines (such as speculating he'll completely change shape growing up, like a chrysalis) you _could_ potentially form an argument for it, but honestly... dude's just heavily into bugs.

15:36 Fun fact, the guy who designed Lugia originally intended for it to be a water type, but it was changed to psychic to make it stronger (psychic type was mad OP in the first two gens). Also he considered Lugia to be female despite legendaries being genderless in the games.

That's neat. Sort of explains the plot of the Mama Lugia in the anime back in the day. Honestly I feel like the Legends should be more explored at this point, at least the older ones. Also better explain how there are SEEMINGLY multiple due to the fact you could transfer them to future games. Kind of never really liked that each entry and each version is its own mini-universe. Like that's cool, but I'd like to know like what's canon and what isn't as far as the world settings. Granted I'd like more of the side game content and aspects were incorporated into the main games to give a better feeling of everything being connected besides just having name brand recognition and it has the same creatures. Like have the option to be older and not stuck as an 11 year old and allow to be stuff like a Ranger or just part of the main bad guy team with the mechanics tied to it as options. Like as a Ranger, you have an easier time catching Pokemon but they're limited to the area you caught them in or maybe be part of a set timer before they just go back into the wild on their own, or for the bad guy team, have their unique custom Team Pokeballs sort of based on like some of the card art of them, but they have the "can snag and catch Pokemon even if they already belong to someone" and uses the Coliseum's "snag and turn into shadow Pokemon" mechanic, but limited to only able to do it through the Team Pokeballs. And on the flip side, you can be either a Ranger or something with the snag glove to capture those Pokemon back (them having like certain symbols to denote if they were snagged, and if they were either wild or belongs to a trainer), purify them, and if they were from a trainer, you return those Pokemon for items, money, and/or other rewards. Also use more of & expanding on Legends' mechanics like Pokemon having more than 4 moves, the battles taking place in the actual world and not just a random field in some variant of a void, and MAYBE giving some Pokemon actual decent battle animations. Maybe have it be more action like Pokken where it feels more like the anime as far as battling, except maybe you swap between the trainer and the Pokemon FF7R style (with the dynamic AI and everything). Also having different Pokeballs and they each have different "tiers", like each unique Pokeball that had certain specific uses have a "Base, Mega, & Ultra" variant (with the appropriate balancing, like maybe the weaker specific ones, while they dont have as much chance getting Pokemon like the stronger ones, the "higher tiered" ones have a much starker difference in what it can & can't catch). Also considering there are surprisingly a lot of Pokeballs that somewhat have the same effect or are sort of "relatives", make those past known ones be the different tiers. Plus a thought I also had was like each Pokeball you use, if caught, gives a Pokemon a slight stat buff or has a certain effect (like adding Ultra Ball giving a big general stat boost, the Heal Ball can passively restore your Pokemon when they aren't in battle, or something like the Love Ball having a x8 catch rate against opposite gender but same species Pokemon, x4 against opposite gender but not the same species, or a x1.5/x1 otherwise (was the best math I could figure out in my own notes trying to think of new mechanics if I got to make a game, and I have a LOT of notes XD)). Although I'm not 100% sure on some of these ideas myself.

Also, Jaden's bad luck in the last rival battle is why I'm honestly scared to ever use any physical attack on a Fighting type pokemon unless I have a Ghost type. And why I hate Wobbuffet and consider it the worst thing to run into unprepared in a Nuzlocke. Counter dealing back double damage you deal with a physical attack is brutal. And it's a lot more common than Mirror Coat, which Wobbuffet also has for special attacks.

To be fair, running into legendaries early is super bad luck and basically a failed encounter 99/100 times. Plus, even if you do catch them, they have a really bad exp curve and generally bad movesets early on (although Groudon immediately gets Lava Plume and Ancient Power).

Gutslove, I was playing a Platinum Nuzlocke while watching your video. I was making my way to the pokemon center in Snowpoint City after a battle on Route 217. Nurse Joy says my pokemon have POKERUS. Looking at my party, I find that 5 out of 6 of my team has it, so I don't know who was the first one to get it, lol. I thought Pokerus only occurred in Sword and Shield, so I was pleasantly surprised to say the least.

Jan is Pokemon Challenges. 10:43 it got fixed, all references of dragon type used to say salamence type. If you look up pokemon types, rock type says onix type, but only there 17:55 she spoke, it happened

I chose Cyndaquil as my starter in my playthrough of SoulSilver. It helped me out quite a bit, got it up to a Typhlosion. Watching Jaiden's Soul Link of HGSS, reminded me of my playthrough of it. I have a lot of memories playing through SoulSilver. My final team for SoulSilver was: Typhlosion, Hypno, Electrode, Lugia, Dragonite, and Vaporeon. While SoulSilver wasn't the first of the remakes I played, (that being FireRed and LeafGreen), it was the first remake I beat.

Prinplup does get metal claw, but it's already not very accurate to begin with. Mix that with snow cloak and rwo stat boosts and it's extremely hard to hit with.

I know it's been 8 days and I hate to tell you this but it is how jaiden says it cyanwood (see- in- wood). I also as a kid thought it was cyan wood but then I saw the anime and heard how they said it.

No Charizard's Fly wasn't enough to ko Hitmontop to which it used Counter, since it did over half of its HP, Hitmontop basically defeated Charizard in one hit. The same happened with Empoleon vs Bastiodon with Metal Burst.

I used to pronounce Suicune as 'Sue-e-seen' when I was little. I wonder if I was the only one? Crystal was my favourite Gen 2 game, too, because you could be a girl for the first time. I call it 'See-an-wood', but when I was little I used to call it 'Cane-wood' because I mixed up in my head where the i and the a was.

Oh! You also named the Rival "???" as well? I did the same as a kid in Silver back in the day. I never realized you were SUPPOSE to name him yourself. Silly me. And same. I thought Bugsy was a girl, but I did thought at times were a boy and believe was a boy. Yet at times I thought was really a girl. It was so confusing. Yeah, before level 9 the only moves Regirock has are Explosion and Stomp in HGSS. And if this was Diamond or Pearl, only Explosion.

i think the randomizer favors the female protag. My Heartgold randomizer was a girl, and I got a Scizor within 30 minutes. It can learn False Swipe at 13, so catching mons became a breeze... And my Dewgong can learn FLY for some reason. Im using a water ice type white seal to FLY.

Love the reaction, but the thing that bugged me for some reason was the fact that you said the hitmontops counter was a crit. It bugs me more than it should, but basically since darphel nearly killed the hitmontop, and counter deals 2x the damage the enemy Pokemon did to it (correct me if I'm wrong on that), and kill darphel due to it

Oh yeah, Counter and Mirror Coat deals about 2x the damage back to the OG Pokémon. At the time I thought it was a crit and went with it, forgetting about Counter since I don’t get that many Pokémon with it while playing the games, and that causes me to forget Counter exists until it pops it’s ugly head 🤣

19:51 I doubt metal claw would do much normally it would do a lot but this froslass bulky and quick as heck right now also prinplup is not usually a physical attacker ot is usually a special attacker due to having a much better special attack base. Here are the stats(from what I can tell from jaiden's video) Froslass has base speed of 110 boosted 2 stages by ominous wind Base defence of 70 boosted 2 stages by ominous wind Base special attack of 80 boosted 2 stages by ominous wind 20% harder to hit due to snow Cloak Prinplup on the other hand has Base speed 50 Base attack 66 Heal stall was basically the only option here she probably went back and forth between attacks and healing

I was talking more about Steel type attacks having 2x damage against ice. Also, remember, this isn’t a Pro Nuzlocker, if it was, then you’d be justified, but since it is not, just chill, dude. Not every person who does a nuzlocke goes this hard.
