Semi-related, but I really loved his reaction to RTGames' Nuzlockes, especially since RT reacted to his reaction and it was hilarious. Some highlights: PC: Pidgey's not the best early encounter, I think it'd be better if he got- RT: Well I didn't have a CHOICE in what I encountered! It's just random chance! . PC: And look at this really cool sixth Pokemon *teasingly gestures towards an empty slot on RT's party* that he spent a long time grinding! RT: Okay, buddy, I was going through a lot! Don't make me come down there! . RT: I wonder if he'll react to this and then I'll have to react to that and then he'll react to that. Nuzlocke comes from the first nuzlocke. It was posted online as “Ruby Hard Mode” and during the comic a nuzleaf was drawn with Locke’s (from Lost) face. This character became known as Nuzlocke and made multiple appearance in comics from that person I can never do nuzlockes. I just get far to careless and lose pokemon to really dumb mistakes.

The only shiny I've ever caught without specifically hunting for it was a shiny Yungoose on a Sun save file I never picked up since. Luckily I've never lost a shiny, but I've done a masuda hunt with 1500+ eggs and then gave up, and my friend continued and got the shiny on his second egg. That one broke my heart

I've tried shiny hunting every time I play a Pokemon game from gen 2 onward. I've played at least one game from every generation. In all this time, I've only ever gotten one shiny. It was a shiny dunsparce, and I was pissed because dunsparce was one of my least favorite Pokemon

This is my best Pokemon-related story. First run of Omega Ruby, I decided to do a Nuzlocke off the bat, since I was familiar with Hoenn. Get to the route between Fallarbor Town and Meteor Falls (Route 114). First encounter on the route is a shiny Swablu. I would have caught it under Shiny Clause anyway, but for it to be my legit first encounter was cool. Caught it, named it Phoenix, and used Altaria through my full run, all the way to the Championship. Mega Altaria makes easy work of a lot of the E4. Beat that Nuzlocke with only 2 deaths as well.

I've encountered a total of two shiny pokemon and caught both. The first was on Diamond version, which was a Floatzel outside of Pastoria, though well after I beat the game. I also used an action replay a lot on that game, so I had an absolute hoard of Master balls to use. The second was on Ultra Sun, and it was a Grubbin at the start of the second island. This time I actually had to use normal pokeballs to catch it. That Grubbin went on to be a part of my team because I found it so early on, and also Vikavolt is pretty good.

Yes! I had only a Haxorus with false swipe, and I was fishing for a feebas. I encountered a shiny chewtle, I used false swipe, and he used COUNTER!!! And killed me!!! 😭

I watched a German randomized Nuzlocke where the movesets of the mons were randomized, and the guy ended up with a Ditto with only Slash. It also had Effect Spore. He figured out that it was pretty effective, actually. The Ditto (named "Auch", German for "Too") crit a lot with Slash.

20:55 I have actually never lost a shiny. That's not something to take pride in, because I can count on one hand the amount of shinies I have encountered(excluding ones I got from trading). I have terrible luck in video games in general. The first shiny I encountered was a Litwick. It was the first time I encountered Litwick, so, because I knew of shinies but not how they worked, I thought the shiny litwick was the regular one. I thought I was getting insane shiny luck with specifically Litwick, and guessed that maybe most gen 5 pokemon didn't have shinies, so the ones that did had increased odds to compensate. And in the end, I released that "regular" Litwick. A few days after that, I showed off all the "shinies" I had caught to a friend, who, having a better understanding of shinies, was able to inform me that they were regular litwicks, and was convinced I was trolling them. They never believed that I had the shiny one, and they never will, as they moved not long after this and we drifted apart.

The fact that you can only throw a one ball has failed me 6 Hatternes 4 Gengars 7 Corviknights 7 Garbodors 3 Alcreamies 1 Grimmsnarls 1 Coalossal 2 Centiskorchs 11 Charizards 3 Copperajahs 3 Machamps 5 Duralodons 2 Butterfrees 5 Drednaws 1 Appletum And 17 non Gmax Pokemons. Also one community day Gible in Pokemon Go. Galar is so nice for the shiny hunters, yet so cruel at the same time.

@@Missingno_Miner It's not all that bad when the Pokemon isn't a GMax one. I mainly hunt at nights when Dusk Balls are at my aid, those have been very effective on most of the shinies i've gotten. It's pretty rewarding despite those fails which have almost made me cry. Some of the Pokemons on the list has allowed me to catch them, after trial and error. But yeah, many victories, also many oof moments. I still kinda like it since encountering a shiny is super easy tho.

Oh, I'm all too familiar with bad luck. Most recently, it came in the form of a "teammate" in a Max Raid in Sword who was a complete and utter MORON. We go into a Max Raid against a Charmander that turns out to be SHINY, and said teammate decides it would be a good idea to use freaking EARTHQUAKE, which didn't do nearly enough damage to even come close to taking out the Dynamaxed Charmander, but it does more than enough damage to KO all three of his teammates, and they then get one-shot by the Charmander as soon as it's turn rolls around. That moron cost everyone in the Max Raid a *SHINY Charmander* for being stupid enough to use *EARTHQUAKE* in a Max Raid! I was very much *not* happy about that.

Hey, man! Hopped in to comment that I also lost a shiny once to the safari zone, and I even have a worse situation. When I was young and playing Emerald, postgame I found an Aipom in the new sector. Worst thing? It didn’t run, it just didn’t catch for fifteen balls in a row and I ran out. The worse scenario was I found a shiny Staryu soon after, which would be amazing if it hadn’t been in the Battle Factory. But anyways, I love the content, brother!

I can remember 5 shinys that i all randomly found(Gen4 Cute Charm Shenanigans aside). -Spinda on Emerald with no way to weaken it, no status, few ultraballs and an almost out-of-battery GBA. -Durant on Y(the only shiny that i "lost" cuz my little brother DELETED THE SAVE) -Zubat on Gold where i randomly thought "didnt find a shiny in a long time" and it appeared literally 2 seconds later. No way to get it out of the Emulator tho, and i just deleted the save file at some point. And then Fletchling and Sentret ON THE SAME DAY, both in Y. Within like 30 encounters of just me playing the game and looking for my team.

If it makes you feel better my first shiny was a shiny wismur which i found at victory road while grinding little did i know it had roar turn one after breaking out of a ultra ball it roared ruined my day (this was in emerald)

Losing a shiny Wooper to Safari Zone sucks, but other than Lake of Rage's guaranteed, still to this day the only shiny I have ever encountered in the wild was a Pidgey in Crystal. Back when that game was new. So I guess I can't match that story but like for the worst reason!
