Will the LeaFree work if I don't have pine trees. Mu neighbor has river birch leaves that fall on my roof and an oak tree in his back yard that the leaves sometimes make it to my roof. I just had that system put on my house with 6 inch gutters and it also has holes in the gutter guard along with the slot on the front, so it's not solid, it has holes, a lot of holes.

Hi @@ron4413. What you just rattled off are among the 5 worst trees on our list. The issue is small stuff clogging the opening into the gutters. I would encourage a micro mesh for your situation. We’ve tested many. Anything with a finer screen will keep the small stuff out of your gutters. Anything with larger holes, slits or slats will be problematic. If you decide to look closer at micro mesh, make sure that it’ll easily repel the debris and take in the water. Jump around the video in my next comment to see what might fit your needs.
@@gutterguardsdirect Ok thanks, I saw in your one video where LeaFree was your 2nd choice.

@@ron4413overall, the solid gutter guards are good performers; however, small debris is their downfall. Oak tassels and the twigs and leaves off the river birch may prove challenging or require you to blow/wash out the opening into the gutter.

@@gutterguardsdirect Ok thank you for your help, I guess we will see how they work since that is what I have. Those trees aren't in my yard, they are in my next-door neighbor's yard. He actually has the solid gutter guards on his house and doesn't have any trouble that I know of. My neighbors across the street have the same and have a lot more trees and they don't seem to have a problem, so we will see. I hope I made the right choice. I will let you know.

What would you choose for a house wth only 2 large cherry 🍒 trees close to only one side of the house and garage?

Determine what types of debris the tree sheds and then look for a gutter guard that sheds that stuff. Clearly, a product like MasterShield, will work. It's the Cadillac system. Others might work, too. In this case, LeafSolution, Gutterglove Pro or even Gutterglove Easy-on/Atlas if you're interested in a budget-friendly DIY gutter guard that is designed to slide under the first course of shingles. You simply have to decide what level of maintenance you want to perform going forward. If you're subject to leaves and cherries falling into the gutters or onto the guards, installing a gutter guard that slides under the shingles and has a nice forward slope makes more sense than installing a gutter guard that sits flat in your gutters. There are 3 variables: ability to shed debris, ability to manage water, and cost. If you don't want to maintain your guards, find a gutter guard that sheds the debris and takes in the water. If cost is a concern, then find a system that will take in most of the water and makes it easy to blow the debris off the tops of the gutters, but keep the leaves and debris from entering the gutter cavity. Gutter Rx is a popular option in this category.

If your smart, don't waste your money on any gutter guards. Any guards you choose, still needs to be cleaned. Don;t believe all the lies your told.
