Gutting 1986 Ford Falcon 190 Conversion Van Remodel

Let me preface this with - if you purchase an old van like this, thats been infested with mice and squirrels, and you think you can just 'clean it up' to use it.. think again. They will literally get in every crevice.
Here's my experience with my 1986 Ford E250 Falcon 190 Conversion Van. This belonged to a friend and has 20k original miles.

People have started turning those old gems into 4 x 4 all terrain vehicle's. Great project! 😉👍Total rip out make a new. There's a whole lot of better stuff out these days for redoing these old vans from top to bottom. Engine and trans defiantly need all new seals and gaskets plus rear axle pumpkin gaskets.👈🤓 Sorry for your lost. Spend as much as you can with your pops. Mine past when I was a boy.

Justin, My half brother and I are in the sad process of losing HIS dad as well, as he is currently in a nursing home, and will soon be transferred to hospice. The issue we are both faced with is not having the money for his cremation. He and our late mom blue though his pension, and so NOW there is nothing left to take care of him. I am on disability and half brother has nothing to his name , and he works! go figure. we are faced with waiting for the other shoe to drop and then what. Make sure you and your dad make as many memories as you still can with him, while you can, cause take it from me, once he's gone, that's it. This will be awesome. I've seen some really cool vans like this with 4x4 conversions. So much potential with that high-top. Hard to believe that something built in 86 was still carbureted. I'll be watching this to see how it progresses. Sorry to hear about the loss of your friend and that your dad is sick.

Sorry to hear about your Dad i lost mine earlier this year after he battled dementia for 10 years. would be good taking the camper to Andrews and being kinda self sufficient

Sorry to hear that Joel, may he rest in peace. Dads starting to get a little loopy too, he has some good days and some bad days. Dementia such a terrible thing to have to go through for everyone involved =[

wow didn't realise the inside was so bad. all you need to save is those front seats because they rotate backwards.... maybe find a replacement couch/bed thing and a kitchen counter. depends what you wanna use it for i guess.... if it was mine i'd put a tv on the wall add a couch and call it done haha

That's pretty much what I'm thinking too.. just a place to sleep and storage for tools. Maybe some form of heat and A/C and a power bank or power supply or some sort. I don't really need to cook or bathe in it.. I can always bring a poo bucket if I plan on camping with it.

We have a 1992 Ford Falcon. it pretty much looks the same as yours. We've had lots of fun it it! One question- we have a water leak in the top bunk area. Do you know where one can find replacement gasket/seals for those upper windows? Thanks and good luck!

Rip it all out got it all clean and rebuild it it seems you're just doing it that way then taking a piece by piece and trying to fix up something that's already messed up I love rebuilding bands and stuff especially motorhomes but man I do not like black mold
