I pulled mine and saved a bunch of weight. Replaced it with 2 of T7 Designs light weight heaters. Took a bunch of trial and air to get it to work with the OEM dash and switches but shes good now. Saved pretty close to 45 pounds.

I could tell from the last video when I saw the damage to the control mechanism that you would be tearing out the dashboard to fix the heater core. You're a perfectionist so it needs to be done right or not at all.

When you took the dash out the bar frame and the bar that leads to the steering wheel had rust on it, is it ok to just leave it like that or would you repair it? Mine is like that too but I’m not sure if I want to spend money on removing the dash and getting it rust repaired

hahaha that is hilarious! Your Mishimoto radiator cap is sideways just like mine! I emailed the company and they say the M should be inline with the tabs ( which mine is ) but is sideways. The gentleman I talked to says that is the way they are supposed to be. I asked him why they don't do research on the different rad caps and which way they face and adjust the decal accordingly....... no response. So I had a custom one made lol

Did you say it was a new cable? New housing too? If not, I'd replace both. At a minimum, figure out how to get some tri-flow into the housing to free it up. Unhook the cable and see if it moves freely and easily back and forth. Replace the cable and send me $100 and you'll still save $100.
