Simply one of the greatest ever songs about love and the inevitability of loss ever written. If you ever needed to know how good Guy Clark was as a songwriter, this tells you.

It may not look appropriate but I have been missing Daddy for 57 years. And this song gives me a solid hug and comfort.

Lyrics are words, Victorious. It was A story with a beginning, middle and end. The flavor of it, pleasure of it, the sadness of it, the aching memory of it, would linger, but the story itself had ended and had been a good story song. That was the important thing, settled down, it will last for ever. I love it. GOOD LUCK...
