@@alabastardmasterson One, most people have never heard of Shawn Camp, two, the song has been popularized by Guy Clark, and by other artists such as John Prine and Emmy Lou Harris, and in several interviews Clark stated that he wrote the song about his wife. When asked where he came up with the idea of the song, he states he cant remember. He may have been with Guy when the son was written, he may have put a few trinkets in on it, but the song was mainly by Guy. However, I like Shawn Camps version better than any other I have heard....
