My little brother has a peanut allergy and him accidentally eating something with an unlabeled peanut component is one of my absolute biggest fears. He's 19 so he's grown up in a world with nut free spaces, but he also understands his responsibility in making sure he knows what he's consuming. So the fact that a peanut sauce was added to something where it wasn't previously and not noting that on the menu is egregious. I'm surprised they aren't getting sued.

see, aldi as a dog name would make real aldis buyers think youre a poser, you gotta name it something that really signifies it like naming the dog "Mama Cozzi's take and bake pizza"

The peanut allergy story is extremely tragic. I understand mistakes can happen in the kitchen, but they shouldn’t have these fatal, but preventable outcomes. It would be nice if restaurants were required to carry Epipens similar to how they have to have fire extinguisher; it’s just confronting the reality of the risks inherent in the service. However, I have heard that Epipens are deceptively expensive, so I am loathe to drop another expensive overhead item on top of restaurants. Perhaps another tragedy that goes back to the rotten healthcare industry at the core of it all!

Im willing to bet that the chefs called an audible on that dish when making it and that is why nobody knew it changed. Like instead of cashews they used peanuts... Idk thats some scary stuff

My husband works in truck logistics, double brokering is super common especially around Christmas. The GPS tracker is actually pretty common when that happens. He had that happen to a truck load that he was doing logistics on. The people put his shipment on a train and then put a GPS tracker on a different truck to cover it up.

One of the things I find upsetting about the allergen thing is that you see a lot of people, especially in internet comments, who have this vitriolic hatred towards the idea that food allergies are a reasonable thing to accommodate. I think in American culture, there's a lot of dislike for the idea that people owe anything to other people, and taking the care to manage allergens falls under that. In There was actually one comment on this video where someone was acting like people who want their food to be free of allergens are picky obnoxious nightmare customers, which is absurd because if there was a non-allergen contaminant like a kitchen disinfectant in their food they'd probably be upset

I feel that the allergy situation will follow the seat belt's mass adoption closely. But what makes the situation worse is that not everyone benefits from strict allergen laws, only the people with allergies do(for seat belts, strict laws do benefit everyone's individual safety).

When I was a kid, my parents bought maybe 30 bags of Cafe Bustelo for $15 off of their shady friend. We would always joke that it "fell off the back of a truck".

I’ve heard of companies using proprietary apps tracking product location on blockchain to prevent forgeries - I wonder if fake GPS signals could get around that?

Trader Joe's love is incomprehensible to me. I suppose if you love expensive snacks instead of meals? Is Trader Joe's a "Girl Dinner" store?
@thisfooreallysaidАй бұрын
Tbh aside from their meat Trader Joe’s has always been hella cheap, at least here in LA
@SteveTheDog115Ай бұрын
just depends on what youre getting, they have stuff you can get for cheap thats more expensive there, then they have nice stuff that you could be paying like 10 dollars for at whole foods or a specialty grocer or somethign, and you get it there for 4 or something. Usually also theres essentially a quality level where you know that what you buy isnt going to be gross, where with say aldi, sometimes you get duds(although sometimes you get the best friggin thing ever, like those take and bake pizzas with the little sweet peppers on them)

How I know you've never been to Trader Joe's and know nothing about it: You think it's expensive 💀
@fireyams3460Ай бұрын
@noreason2701 Snacks and prepared food are expensive agnostic of store compared to regular groceries, read my post again.

People can barely afford groceries and I think that is driving theft. We are starving and desperate.
