Why'd you get mad at a guy for saying people use handhold microphones to look low budget, and then proceed to argue that it's actually bc of a trend of people trying to look low budget?

When I was a kid, my parents bought maybe 30 bags of Cafe Bustelo for $15 off of their shady friend. We would always joke that it "fell off the back of a truck".

I was in the shower listening to this when you talked about your “No podcasts in the shower” rule. Considering I used to take the phone with me and watch hour long essays and league games, this was a bit of an upgrade in thoughtfulness and water conservation

The worst part is whenever they sprinkle in rhetorical questions with the same cadence and act surprised when you try to answer them. Actually, it's worse when they're covering a nuanced topic but are vague with their lead-up and still expect a one-word answer. You don't know what they want, so you often end up saying the opposite answer because either way, it's technically correct; it depends on the interpretation!

Interesting. Does this explain why so many products used on camera are covered up? I mean, obviously a Kitchen-Aid mixer is... a Kitchen-Aid mixer. A piece of masking tape over the logo doesn't change the obvious.

I like this video a lot. I sometimes haven't noticed details and such about videos and after discussing with someone thought about it more clearly. Though I'd like to say blindly following social media has been around for a while. Look at how ppl would claim people would steal ideas from people even if they were the original maker just because they saw someone more popular do it first. Though I'd like to say that your own questions of how strict your standards may seem very similar to those "weak conclusions" that video essays have like you pointed out.

One of the things I find upsetting about the allergen thing is that you see a lot of people, especially in internet comments, who have this vitriolic hatred towards the idea that food allergies are a reasonable thing to accommodate. I think in American culture, there's a lot of dislike for the idea that people owe anything to other people, and taking the care to manage allergens falls under that. In There was actually one comment on this video where someone was acting like people who want their food to be free of allergens are picky obnoxious nightmare customers, which is absurd because if there was a non-allergen contaminant like a kitchen disinfectant in their food they'd probably be upset

I’ve heard of companies using proprietary apps tracking product location on blockchain to prevent forgeries - I wonder if fake GPS signals could get around that?
@SeamalicousАй бұрын
I have an unverified hunch on the food thefts that might be a conspiracy theory… my belief is that what’s happened is the massive increase in costs has lead to new entry and established players having to be more open to newer suppliers, this in turn has lead to an uptick in shady operators or outright scammers. That part is fairly logical, the only plausible alternatives are some sort massive organised crime operation or complete randomness. The question is why the media is getting these beautifully packaged examples from all around the world. That generally only happens if there’s a PR firm involved somewhere in the chain. Why would a PR firm be amplifying these? Because it puts a human approachable face on ‘supply chain disruptions’, and changes the narrative from them as a thing that allows massive corporate entities to raise prices, to something that can send a small artisan out of business.

My husband works in truck logistics, double brokering is super common especially around Christmas. The GPS tracker is actually pretty common when that happens. He had that happen to a truck load that he was doing logistics on. The people put his shipment on a train and then put a GPS tracker on a different truck to cover it up.

I feel that the allergy situation will follow the seat belt's mass adoption closely. But what makes the situation worse is that not everyone benefits from strict allergen laws, only the people with allergies do(for seat belts, strict laws do benefit everyone's individual safety).
