A long time ago, we posted a video identifying a guy that did some damage to a vehicle parked in our lot. We took the video down by agreement and lots of people asked about it and wanted to know what happened. Here's the story, without revealing the person's identity. PLEASE give the video a THUMBS UP and COMMENT!

After watching several of your videos there is one theme that seems persistent, many of the drivers return drunk. You’ve probably saved countless lives by removing the vehicle of someone who would have hurt and/or killed themselves or others involved. Even if no one would have been physically harmed, you’ve probably saved many people from nasty DUI charges that would cost significantly more than the cost of them getting their vehicle back.

Well, he had nothing to do with it. He's just in a place and time where stupid people, and yes they would have driven drunk and could have possibly injured and/or killed themselves and others, have parked illegally to get their fun time no worries relaxation on. So I think that the chance that those idiots parked by ignoring those signs, would have showed a very high percentage of possibly becoming a statistic rather than being smart and getting a ride at the start.

... and your point is - what? That we shouldn't look for ways to improve and catch people behaving badly? For all the bandits know, those cameras could be fake. Adding them, upgrading them certainly doesn't seem to be discouraging the bandits, who don't care either way. There are signs... lots of them. There are cameras... lots of them. Some people read the signs, and don't park there. Some see the cameras, and don't park there. Some people get a ride home, instead of stumbling back to their car and getting behind the wheel. We all make choices. Here's hoping that they are good ones...

Isn't as wrong (or dumb) as posting the guy's name without legal proof. So the employer had the right to search his name and deny employment, right? I would sue for damages and call the employer to testify the true reason he didn't offered the job.

The Mute: You DID catch that the towed cretin keyed the SUV, had his plate run, had his name collected from his plate and registration that way, and eventually admitted to it, right? Of course not, that requires critical thinking on a level never before experienced by window lickers and jellyfish. Congratulations, you've proven that algae is on the internet.

We had a big RV pull into our parking lot and run over one of the signs and then drive back out. We still have people pull in and park. "Those signs can't mean me" You all know the type. Exactly WHICH laws "enable drunk driving?" [Citation Needed] because you just spewed nonsense all over my internet! "Cannabis also doesn't impair driving skills, which is great!!" -- We get it, you like weed. Many people do. That's fine; however, that assertion is also complete nonsense, if not a blatant lie. In states with legal weed, it's STILL illegal to drive under the influence thereof! Anyone who attended high school after 1959 knows that weed impairs your faculties. Otherwise, what's the point of indulging?

@@colormedubious4747 I thought so too until I read the medical studies (I'm medical and I read medical studies all the time). Although the studies have limitations that state they do NOT condone driving under the influence of cannabis, statistically significant cognitive impairment was not seen on studies of cannabis for relief of neuropathic pain (as in diabetic neuropathy). On the light side, euphoria was nearly as much in the placebo group as in the cannabis group.

Auron Grande I don’t think there was humiliation involved at all, at least the guy himself didn’t feel humiliated. He is too self-centered for that. He couldn’t get a job and it forced him to deal with it. Someone sensible in his life, possibly his wife, probably dictated what he needed to say. People blame the drink for doing stupid things but I have been drunk lots of times and I never keyed a car or did anything remotely heinous like that, and neither do most people. The evil has to already be in your heart for the drink to release it. And it is permanently there, even when being sober makes it easy to hide it. The man is a scumbag and it is very pleasing to see that he both lost a job and had to fix the damaged car.

How many ways can a guy dig his own grave? He parks where he doesn't belong. He get drunk and goes to drive. He commits vandalism. He lies about it, in court. Finally when faced with consequences he makes good. He could have killed someone and or died behind the wheel. He risked being arrested for: drunk driving, and vandalism. He had to pay the tow company and lost a possible job, but the truth is he got off light compared with what could have happened. Is it completely fair, of course not. What's important is he made it right in the end, for that he could put it all behind him and hopefully make better decisions in future. I'm sure that the police will remember him, even if they didn't have enough evidence to prosecute. So if he ever does pop up on their radar they won't be likely to give him any breaks. Hey, your employee's wife got a nice shiny paint job. It says a lot that you took all those steps to hold this guy responsible for his actions. Not every business would do that for their employees. All I know about you is your parking lot, but from what I see, you guys are all right.

What I'm trying to say is that the punishment should fit the crime.

I won the judgement was sent a check by the insurance company and thought that that was the last time I'd ever hear from him. Years later I get a call from his wife. Apparently they're trying to buy a home and the judgement is still showing as unpaid. She said that her husband paid me for the accident days after the incident. She seemed very disturbed when I told her we had to go to court because he denied responsibility. Bottom line is she needed a letter from me showing that the debt had been paid in full. I sent her the letter but it took me a few weeks to write it. Now that's Karma.

Crimes and the people who commit them are public knowledge. Even petty crimes such as illegal parking, though it is rare that a newspaper bothers publishing the names of offenders. "Crimes and people who commit them are public" Yes, this is true. If you had the appropriate information you could look it up court case. However, you are unlikely to have the appropriate information if it isn't given to you by a 3rd party. Unless you just happen to live in the area where it would be publicly posted in the newspaper. However, none of that applies here. The charges were dropped, there never was a court case, and he wasn't convicted of a crime. This channel was the only one to release his name in relation to the matter. It was doxing.

Yeah, there were a couple of instances where someone wearing a high vis jacket ushered cars into the parking lot and took a fee for parking. That's why the signs now also explicitly state "this is not event parking". Attempts have been made to identify the individuals at fault, but nothing yet afaik.

You did a great job about putting the video and name!I would do the same!Before i left Luxembourg, it happened that some guy destroyed completely 2 wheels of my car parked on the other side of the building i lived, but unfortunately there were no cameras and i had a huge cost because of that, and surely with cameras and the ability to find the vandals, i would do exactly the same till they take responsibility for their criminal actions!!!!!

I just came across your channel yesterday, I'm going through all of your videos and in the back of my mind I was always worried that some idiot that got angry would put 2 and 2 together and realize that all of the other cars they parked with got towed except this one car that was here when they parked and realize that it must be someone who works there and take out their anger on them. Thinking that the employee was the one who placed the call to get their car towed and not that you all probably have a contract with the tow company to drive by your parking lot every hour or so on the weekends to look for violators.

Why are people defending this guy who parked illegally, committed vandalism, and lied about it? And since he was, by his own admission, drunk but looking for his car, he was planning to DRIVE DRUNK. What's with the "oh that poor guy" attitude from some you people? He could've KILLED somebody, luckily he didn't, all he did was lie and break the law two or three times.
@gtoger
@gtoger 6 жыл бұрын
Well said. My guess is people are defending the guy rather than the guy's actions. Good people can make horrible decisions, especially when under the influence. In this case, the guy saw (or was shown) the errors in judgement and was motivated to try and make things right. Now all that remains is the story, the old, grainy video and hopefully a lesson he'll carry with him. If we're lucky, it's a lesson we can all carry without having to live the harsh consequences of humiliation, losing a job opportunity and having to pay for an expensive paint job.

Once upon a time!!! Great video and results were so worth it. Sadly the lesson here is this: he was not "raised better than that" because he was blind-drunk to start with before he committed a crime. I am not judging him but am judging his behavior and words and as was taught to me as a child: actions speak louder than words and first impressions are strong and long lasting. I sincerely hope he has quit drinking and that he has gotten a good job. That would be nice. Wish his story could be updated with a "And he lived happily ever after" to match the start of the story.
