"Guy Lamoreaux and his 1970 Corvette LS-454" is an interview segment of the documentary "Decade of Thunder" by Brian FitzGerald of Wichita, Kansas.
Guy describes himself as an American who has not found anything in the European Automobile Inventory that can beat the American Muscle Car. He has a career in the Aerospace Industry. Except for the tires, which he exchanged for larger radials to improve handling and stopping, he keeps his 454 stock and original.
During the car wars of The Decade of Thunder, cubic inches generally equaled power output. At the top of the power hierarchy is the LS 454. The sound of one starting up and pulling away is a thing of great beauty.
There are very many interesting facets to the Corvette interior and the exterior, as well.
The design of the Chevrolet Corvette has been likened to that of a beautiful woman. Even the Europeans have admitted it is a standard to be admired.

Beauty. I have basically the same car. 70 LS5 A/C 4 gear, with power breaks. The numbers 454 is in the garage. I'm running a 700hp 540 with a 5 speed over drive right now. Wakes the old 70 right up.

Hope you’ve got it done by now(‘21) I’ve got a 70 LS5 I bought in 91 haven’t got to it yet (restoration) I like the idea of going back to original tires They’ll be Goodyear “wide tread” raised white letter or white white stripe.Red lines were dropped for 70.

427s are interally balanced while the 454s are externally balanced which means they can have vibrations.

I know a guy who bought a 70 Hemi Cuda in 1974. In 2005 a guy said How Much. Rod said it wasn't for sale. The guy said 300 Large, right now! Rod just laughed at him.

Hey Brian.... Very cool video! A perfect documentary. Guy did a swell job, too. I have an identical car as Guy's with the exception that it has a small block 350 hp 350 cuin engine and it's the convertible version. Same Year, Color combination, and Vibe! Great cars! Love yer vid, brother!

Corrrect, I own a 71 convertible, LS5, 454 365 HP, wish I had the LS6, very rare and very expensive, Less than 200 were made, 180 or so.

TIM, a 454 4-spd with A/C would have a mandatory 3.08 axle ratio.

Wow! I Love Your Corvette! GUY CAR ALL THE WAY! I Miss My Yellow '68 T-Top Corvette, Mine Had The 427/390 And 4 Speed. There's Not A Lot Of Difference Inbetween The 427 And The 454 Except Maybe Torque And Peak Engine Speed. Good God, You Have 500 Ft/Lbs Of Torque! Wow! My Vette Was Good Too At 460 Ft/Lbs Of Torque. I Had To Let Mine Go Because I Simply Couldn't Afford It At The Time, 1984-1985. They Were Gonna Repossess It. You're Very Lucky To Have That GIRL In It With You. Even When I Had MY Big Block Corvette I STILL Couldn't Get Girls. And I STILL CAN'T Even To THIS DAY!!!
