I did notice how Guy's editing DOES make his movies APPEAR like 'old silent (or circa) movies', but yet there's something a bit 'different' in his, but I didn't really know how to articulate that - so I enjoyed hearing his description here very much - I need to look up more of Guy talking about his films - I'm enjoying hearing his viewpoint and approach. THANKS!

I just saw my first Guy Maddin film - "Careful". I am hooked. I've got to see his other films. I appreciate his attempt to "facsimile" the way memories work in dreams. That being said, I have always wanted to understand dreams better so perhaps slowing down the images and not having them flash by would allow me to appreciate them or understand them better. This is why I like Tarkovsky. His films are sloooooooooow.
