After some advanced audio analysis, I think it must be Vigo's "L'Atalante," although it sounds like "Ladolante" (yet I admit I have never once heard a real person say the title of the film). Hopefully that's a none-too-subtle insider's hint that Criterion will be issuing said film soon.

This looks like an interesting crowd of commentees. There are at least two books with Maddin interviews in them...right now I have the films of Guy Maddin by Caelum Vatnsdal in front of me. It gets Cocteau like in some passages...wonderful. I'd like to recommend some films. Mon Oncle, The Coca Cola Kid, and The Tenth Victim. (watch this with no titles and english selected....they spoke in english)

Also one more thing I'm so upset with Hollywood of all the re releases in 3D, taking ideas away from these films and speaking of that I'm not one of them but it makes me so mad that I wish I could become an independent film director probably not. But if your one of those has taken film school and has been inspired by these films I wish you all to become great film directors. But please don't take Ideas away from the most famous directors such as Akira Kurosawa, Ingmar Bergman, Masaki Kobiyashi
