Okay, I found this post after watching a bunch of Guy Martin videos, so I wasn't really expecting anything quite like this. As a student of sound recording and a fan of motorsport, I am absolutely floored by the sheer volume and perverse nature of this recording. I LOVE IT! This sets a high bar in terms of snarl and aggression. The pure noise captured here is close to the pure feeling one gets for hearing something like this in real life.

I met Burt as a kid with my Pop in Invercargill just after Dad bought the 3.8L Mk 10 Jaguar he was lusting after from Crosby's Garage back in '68. Dad was a mate of Burt’s and did some welding work etc for him on the Indian in the early days. Years later? I met Roger Donaldson, the director of The Fastest Indian while I was working as a locations scout on the project. I also knew John Britten quite well. An artisan and a visionary. A very, very special fellow. RIP JB. Britten's workshop was significantly involved in the film also.

Back round '99 or so I saw the Spondon Engineering layout at the Indianapolis dealer show. Here in the States there wasn't a lot of the trick tubular aluminum chassis and swingarms around. We mainly saw Harris Magnum, Spondon or Martek in magazines, lol.

@@NovatoCustom I wish I could stumble across some of those components, I've got an 89 & a 94 1100 they'd compliment nicely lol. I've got a YZF750 and winter of '18 I came across one of the billet clutch covers with the lexan (or whatever they used) window showing the innards....just didn't have the $500 for an engine cover at the time 😕

hey all watching this, this is the gospel truth, i once had a martek turbo, i brought it from my mate, his name was Kieth and was a lead singer in a group called the prodigy, not name dropping but this is the truth, i was a friend of flinty, anyway, Kieth owned a martek turbo and sold it to me, i got it street legal and rode it hard, you could get the front wheel up in every gear with very little throttle, it was a early martek with a lot of mods, all top spec, it was a 750 frame with a big oil cooled engine the turbo was from a plane, and i put noz on it, i wish i still owned it, i sold it to a friend and he smashed it up as he could not handle the power, i know it has been rebuilt

That's a crazy story, I knew Keith was a huge petrol head. If this is true, it's awesome ! I've seen Martek are building some new stuff, very interesting

@@NovatoCustom this bike was once a streetfighter cover bike, it had a awesome stance, one of my mates brought his fireblade track bike and put that on the road aswell, i rember going out for ride , me on the martek and my mate on the blade, i reckon we broke every rule going lol.

Little bit of useful information. There are only two of these Martek frames in existence. Guy Martin owns one and Keith Flint aka The Prodigy owns the other one.
