Yesss!! He is amazing 💗💗💗 i learn so much watching his videos thank you Guy Tang for explaining everything when it comes to prices or even steps on how to color and i didnt know much about olaplex but i do now thanks to you! I am still in school i got 2more months to go and im finished but it seems alot of clients dont have respect for hair dressers they never want to pay for time basically they want to pay for the products and thats it 😳 im not going to do someones hair for 4 to 6hrs the most just for a 30$ profit so i just tell them to come into my school i can't wait to start working and learning prices in AZ and building up my clientele

I luv u guys. I agree. I like to spend the time with my clients. Many other salons n owners see that as waste of time.

Could you upload a video on a client consultation? What questions do you ask and how do you go about telling them an estimated price quote? please and thank you:)

If I’m already spending like $150 at a local salon and I don’t know how well they’re gonna do, I am completely okay with spending up to $1k on guy tang because I KNOW that I will walk out with exactly what we consulted because he tries so hard and works so long to do exactly what you want. And I also know my hair with be kept extremely healthy. It’s about time and experience. If you don’t want to spend that kind of money on such a risky service do your hair at home🤷🏼‍♂️

If I were ever able to go to a high-end stylist, I'd be lucky!.....According to what he says, I'm lucky that I like my hair neck-length, too! xD But seriously, I'd save up to see him once a year.

I don't think prices should be set according to what your expenses are, but that's just me. I do like Guy Tang, I think he does a great job.

Lpg 8 But its necessary you need to make a profit out of what you are doing, and if you are not keeping into consideration all the expenses you have and charge lower rates, the expenses will catch up alot faster before you know it, leaving you with little to nothing in your wallet

Okay Mr. Tang ,You pay maybe $1.50 a tube for hair color if you buy in bulk. Around $5.00 if you don't . Let me remind you that you are not a doctor and do not deserve to charge those ridiculous prices. You are ripping people off.

***** First off when you go to a professional you are not paying for" their cost" of the product they use on your hair. You are paying for their expertise in the beauty industry. The knowledge they attain from their schooling, advanced classes and seminars, and the years of working in an industry that is finally getting some respect and being recognized as professionals instead the lowly beauticians of the past. Being upfront about your pricing during the consultation is a must, this is where you can say no I can't afford that and choose to go somewhere else. Its all a choice. I laugh at comments like this because I think to myself do these people say the same things to the grocery store clerks or the clothing stores whos markup btw is over 100%. Usually not they just pay the price and move on. When it comes to your hair I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for and where Guy is concerned his results are absolutely amazing and I think he's worth every cent. And with all the steps and processes he does I assure u his cost is well over $1,50 - $5 not sure where you can even purchase color as a professional for that price anymore. Maybe 25/30 years ago when I first got into this business but not today thats for sure. Keep up the great work Guy you are an inspiration to the beauty industry, you are the Hair Dr!

I know what people are paying for since I went to Beauty College. It takes around 9 months to get a license so there is no way a hairdresser should command more then what a doctor makes.

Well if u r any good in this business u continue on with ur education after u get ur original license. New things are happening all the time and these classes are by no means cheap! Last 2 day class I took cost me $1100 and that doesn't include the cost to travel to long beach or cost of hotel and food and this is for only 1 extra class! If u do that twice a year it adds up but it also allows u to charge more for services ur fellow stylists may not be up to date on. This is what sets u apart from the others. I do understand where ur coming from and would agree with u if guy was just some so so stylist working at the corner super cuts, but he is obviously not that stylist and he has many people wishing they could get in sooner with him and they have no problem paying his prices. And if u think about it what doctor do u know that takes on only one client per day? I no of none. Usually they have people booked every 15 min so that's 4 people per hour at_($85-$100 on average) per office visit if paying out of pocket ,so if the good ,dr works a part time day of 6 hours which is about an average time for a color correction , he would be making up to $400 an hour or almost $2400 for a 6 hour day whereas the highest price I heard guy say was $1000 I think. So doctors in reality are still making more than double than some of the top hairdressers

Go ahead ask ur doctor to color your hair. Would love to see the result. Skills is accumulated overtime and you cant just judge it by product used for the pricing
