In Barbados we don't normally get people dumping garbage on the beach, they mostly do this in gullies around the country; even though the authorities keep on asking them not to do so; but what we do find on the beach is stuff like disposable cups and plates, plastic bags, fast food containers and things of that nature. Also we've been having recurring problems with sargassum seaweed; not sure if you in Guyana have been having this challenge too; but it has been happening to our neighbours in St Lucia and St Vincent and others higher up the chain. All beaches that are visited by tourists have bathroom and changing room facilities; it's only the smaller not-too-popular beaches that wouldn't have them. You've been making the call now for some time. I think it's just a matter of time before the government hear's your cries and follow through. Dr Irfan Ali seems committed to improving the Guyana infrastructure to meet all present and future needs.

Nice, so relaxing and peaceful. Good job as usual Sir!! Caribbean can follow Rwanda and other places...community clean ups. Thank God for the Tourist in Barbados --now natives can shower and use bathroom facilities at some beaches. See the reality? 😢 Yup, education in a must, and fining the key. Those publicly urinating - a 2 common sight in Barbados - can be fined as in St.Lucia, or do community work Same should be applied 2 littering...Ackee and other seeds, nut shells, wrappers etc. Garbage which escapes interior of the truck when tilted in should be picked up by those collecting. Do they have tools for this? 😭

the entire coast line of Guyana is below sea level, we will never have clear or blue water...however people can do more to help clean up... but the tide brings in more with every cycle...it will be a while before we will have more modern type of walls and or decks by the water..
