My MiL was Guyanese and used to make the most delicious patties. Unfortunately, she never shared her recipe with me. Yours look so much like hers that I'm going to try and replicate her patties using your method. Thank you.

Not sure at the moment, I've had these pans for the longest. You can make different shapes if so desired (using a round object). Thanks for watching 👌

Why do Guyanese start calling their meat pie, beef patties? Jeesh, we know you all love Jamaicans but you dont have to do everything thing they do.
@ge933 Жыл бұрын
What you must not know Guyanese. I personally hate the Jamaican style Pattie’s especially the dough they use. Huge difference. And we love people no matter as long as they good

@@ge933You people copy people from other countries, but hate them at the same time, makes no sense

As far as i know, they were always called patties. I'm 33 and Guyanese, so at least for that long they have been called patties, never ever heard them being referred to as meat pies. I don't think Guyanese copied from Jamaica.

Guyanese don't say meat pie. It's always known as patties. My great grandmother who would have been over 100 has been calling it patties
@senachancellor5475Ай бұрын
Guyanese have ALWAYS had patties as part of our cuisine. It is a staple at all parties, weddings etc. We also have different fillings such as beef, chicken, vegetables and even Shrimp. We also make a more high end rich texture pastry called bouchées which are filled but the top left open. We DO have meat pies which are normally much larger in circumference and there is also s shepherds pie….. 🤷🏽♀️
