@@legendofmi it works! I started a game, talked to Otis, Guybrush refuses to speak to him. Then I got on the map and asked a random pirate for gold. (VGA CD Version)

I will give another go, but I tried with the same version and the steps you described and all I got were lines about the weather and the roads leading to the same path.

@@legendofmi Yes! In the meantime I tried giving the money back to the same pirate because Guybrush says it's just borrowed. Waited to meet the same guy again, but nothing...

Pretty cool! I tried out the other Secret of Monkey Island demo that has minor changes from the Passport demo (it was made to advertize Game Player's magazine) Sadly neither this or the Indy joke are present Edit: The first door you can open in the Passport demo can't be interacted with in the Game Player's demo, as for Indy it was simply just removed because the Game Player's demo doesn't have Indy or Loom's assets since it only contains Monkey Island

The doors are actually random for every time you launch the demo. Should work if you try to launch the demo a few more times.

​@@legendofmi I tried replaying the demo a few times but it seems like none of the doors other than the Voodoo Lady's and the chicken-with-a-pulley-in-the-middle shoppe (which is closed anyway) can be interacted with. By random do you mean which door triggers the event or whether or not the event can be triggered in the first place?
