A previous friend said my lipstick looked clownish. Very judgemental. If you don't like it, keep your mouth shut. The comment was said to make me feel bad. Other derogatory comments were also made before I ended this friendship. If I don't like a friend's hair, makeup, clothes, car whatever - I keep my mouth closed. It's the person inside that matters, not superficial things. I know Marie used to suggest clothing choices for you. However that's helpful not critical. Thank you for your wisdom Jonathan❤❤

Fine tuning. I love it. I spent 5 years alone and sat with myself and my own issues to understand what I was presenting to someone else. I had to accept i gave more than I got and why i did that, as well as learn I had to respect my own worth before I could see someone else's.

Hi, Jonathon. Not only did what you discuss with us resonate with me, but also I've only now realized that not one sexually involved or platonic hetero relationship that I've had up until my most recent phase of celibacy began (nine years ago) was one that *I* chose. Either the relationship was arranged by a "well-meaning" relative or the man aggressively pursued me just for the thrill of the chase. When I said "no thank you," they insisted on the pursuit. Of course, having worked on myself through the years, including therapy, I learned my role in the madness of those 'ships: My self-esteem was so low that I was afraid of keeping firm on "no thank you" and was terrified of being without companionship.

J ~ your words are good medicine! I’ve always struggled with my biblical upbringing “man is the leader” in a marriage and when you said team captain that resonated with me in a positive way. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts and although I am a Christian, I am open and have a similar mindset.

Definitely had one of those critical and grudge holding, angry person - not for me ! their childhood wounds/ damage became my nightmare. I’m not your psych nurse.. nor a purse. I finally let go of a man who thinks Liz C is great and hates DJT......So true about men needing that push from their wife's for making doctors appts. I would call him at work a half an hour before his appointment. That was the only he could get himself to get to the doctors and even dentist appointments. R.I.P my husband of fifty years............

I’m in a LDR, he wouldn’t go to the eye Dr to get his vision checked. I told him, when I go visit in September of last year, I will take him…he doesn’t take care of himself, health wise.
