These are excellent! Thanks for taking the time. When I’m playing with older students I offer to let them set the range. They seldom take me up on it, but the best one I remember them making was: Smart animal vs stupid animal

These are also categories that could be used with our old game called Earth to Atom kzbin.info/www/bejne/r6iZZYeCjrOVb9E

I have the board game which I originally purchased because I thought it would be a great party game and a great classroom game. I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought it would be good for school! When I tried playing in my class I had a lot of cheaters, so I ended up having kids keep their hands in their pockets and exiting the room after they gave their clue. I would agree that you would need some additional time to set the game up, come up with categories, as well as explain some of the categories for less proficient students. If I thought students would struggle with two options, I had students volunteer answers for the extremes. For example, some vocabulary we were working on was ADVANTANGE and DISADVANTAGE, so I gave them a context and they listed some extreme examples of advantages and disadvantages (for example, having 1 million dollars and never going to school). Then we would think of an example that would go in the middle. This was mostly for more difficult categories. Overall, good game to discuss ANTONYMS and degrees of adjectives. And it was also good for debating in groups. There was a little bit of a wait for some students to come up with examples, which meant some off-task behavior from the rest of the class and a slower pace, but it was a good game.

I’ve been debating buying the actual game. It looks great, but shipping here is absurdly high. Often more than the thing itself. I teach a variety of ages (and different levels of proficiency) and for the most advanced students, I challenged them to come up with their own opposite adjectives after a few examples. It worked well enough once for each class.

I need to modify this game if I play it in my class. Our whiteboard here is not magnetic😊

Hmm. Maybe a different color marker for each team?

Hi, are you in Taipei? Could I take you & the other guy for dinner or for a drink? I use all of your games & adapt them slightly. My students love them. This has been the most valuable group / channel since I started teaching ESL. Thank you guys for the content

@@GuysWithGamesESL okay, I'll do that. I also have a few games I've made myself that I haven't seen on your channel, you may be interested in. Anyway, thanks for the content.

@@brx23692 definitely feel free to message us with content ideas. Especially if you have ideas for games/activities that other teachers should know about. We’ve come across all kinds of teachers, including those who think ‘their’ games are a product of their hard work and experience, and not to be shared. While we would never betray that sentiment, we just don’t think that way. Sharing resources got us to where we are in our careers, and we hope to pay it forward.

I this this week's game needs extra time and energy, especially if your students are noisy and always energetic :)

I think it works best with older student who want a challenge.
