Extremely helpful, especially for me, a person looking for affordable lighting whilst not knowing much about lighting setups. Your video hit very important key points. Thank you for this

Gigs? No gigs yet for me.

How do you get the special effects mode? Pressing the mode button only cycles through Wi-Fi, rotate, master and slave.

On mine the mode button cycles through those & also a 'Special Light' mode. Maybe there is a firmware update since you purchased yours? I'm not sure if you do that through the app, but it might be the case.

Great video. I agree with you about funky apps requiring you to change network settings on your smart phone. It is a result of lazy light development teams and brain dead smartphones. From a development point of view it is easier to create a device that sets itself up as an access point and hands an IP address out to a phone. No SSID, no password, no customer defined IP address. Then there is networking on a smartphone. Why can't a phone connect to multiple WiFi networks at the same time? I know Linux which powers Android can do it. Why can't the smartphone?

It would be great if the app could switch network settings automatically once configured to cut down on the fooling around each time you launch it. I'd still prefer a little remote though, somethings just don't need to be an app. Thanks for the message.

gvm880d rgb vs neewer 660 pro rgb?
@DcSoundOp3 жыл бұрын
I haven't seen the neewer unit in person yet, but it looks really similar on paper. It even has the same batch of unusual effects to choose from. Right now they are more expensive, but also a slightly higher power rating and a bunch more LEDs, so they should be a bit brighter. Depending on how you're planning to use them, it may be worth the extra $$ for sure.
