That distro should disposed of immediately. I am assuming that “ground lift” switch is just cutting off the ground from the feeder. If that is the case holy hell is that dangerous. I would also hazard to guess there is no load balancing, which could lead to problem with newer smart breakers/panels. On a church install the electricians didn’t balance the dimmer rack so when it was powered up the “ smart” main disconnect would kill the whole building.

I’m in the Chicago area and worked a lot of rock clubs back in the day. Really interested to see what club it came out of. Little more than a handful of venues would have ran that size board. It’s probably on its 2nd or third owner. So many clubs went digital 10 + years ago.

The only problem I see with these is that they have no preamps so they come in at line level that’s kind of a deal breaker for me otherwise with a single data transfer XLR this would be awesome especially with the capability to daisychain them and then say hook them up to a wing

Omg the Roland M-400, so much nostalgia! I learned how to mix on that thing in high school back in 2015-2017. Good sound, I wouldn’t buy it today due to its lack of fully parametric EQ - low and high bands don’t have it. I would consider the M-480 since the EQ is fully para. Also, with the M400, the Remote Desktop app doesn’t work with today’s computers using 64-bit processing, and you would have to be tethered to the console via USB-B. The screen on that thing is killer and so clear though. The bright colors make everything so easy to read. We also had reliability issues with the 1608 stage boxes. Sometimes they just wouldn’t talk to the board and we would literally have to connect and disconnect the stage box from power multiple times until it would connect to the board. Thankfully that didn’t happen too often, but it is still concerning.

I'm using four of these for my computer and studio setup... They have worked well to protect from occasional power surges...
@TinoSchulz19904 күн бұрын
That's great. One (even better) solution would be interchangeable connections. One day i need 4 XLR Outs, another day i need 2 outs, 2 ins, another day i need a 3 in, 1 out. I know, adapters exist, but that would make the product even more versatile

Important: With the Dante modules Brooklyn II or Brooklyn III. There are 2 versions of the firmware for EACH chip type and you MUST flash the correct one (internal or external) for the chip type you own and where you instal it. This allows the networking ports on the rear of the mixer (or expansion card) to work as they should. You also MUST register the internal module to the Rack. That process is actually just enabling the internal slot for use with either the Dante card OR the upcoming WSG card. Done by holding the utility button while powering the Rack on and typing MOD-DANTE at the prompt. There are currently 6 possible firmware files from which to choose, 2 of which Behringer does not list. The LATEST Brooklyn III files are ONLY available via Audinate within Dante Controller itself (4.2.7.7) The two Brooklyn III version files that Behringer lists (4.2.4.8) are outdated and could cause problems. IF you are lucky enough to have a Brooklyn II card there are but 2 choices (4.2.3.13) (internal or external) and those versions are still the same as they were 2 years ago. The version Behringer calls AoIP is for internal use. SO if Brooklyn II, AoIP version 4.2.3.13 is what you want for INTERNAL placement. IF Brooklyn III, AOIP version 4.2.7.7 is what you want for INTERNAL use.

Woah, nice review. While I check its firmware, the website shows its latest (last?) version was from 2018. It seems do not have audio interface, I wonder how it will work with DAW? Also it does not have MIDI too! Is that somewhat outdated? Also, for me there is a problem: if my phone or laptop is connected to the mixer via wifi or ethernet, then, it disconnects from current internet/intranet connection then! So it's a closed world within this "app"! However, difficult to find alternatives at this price range.

Threre are several different Versions of the Brooklyn II Module. There is the BNII-01-064 wich supports 64 channels (that's the Wing-Dante's module), the BNII-01-32 (the X-Dante's original 32x32 module) and also a 016 and 008 version. A friend put a BNII-01-008 in his Wing and it works, allthough it supports only 8 channels :D So you have to watch out when buying Brooklyn modules. Of course there's also Brooklyn 3 (the module they use in most modern revisions of the Dante cards), but I don't know if there are any channel restrictions or not.

@jensdroessler35754 күн бұрын
@@ActionCamPOV It will. But you might need to flash the Behringer Brooklyn firmware from their homepage while the module is in your Si. It might not work flashing it in the Wing, because the Wing's integrated network switch isn't configured for that (which it will be with the Behringer Dante firmware, tha's the whole reason for that).

Yes it is drain your money if its get inproper use. Most of the mixer guys try to push it beyond the mixer peaking and let the processor do their job and keep the output linear. The others who had any of knowing abaut the non-red zones they usualy sad: “so great, Thanx”

GLD is a great Console, mixing on it almost every Day. Downside is that the internal battery will die after a few years and is kinda hard to replace but duable. Other than that, great console, for 1k I believe you hardly get anything better.

For some reason on PC startup my Quantum ES4 volume is wide open even though the settings are saved and look to be in the right place. I have to open UC, drop my main LR fader to the bottom and then raise it to my desired position in order to keep it from blaring. Upon hearing from support I uninstalled UC and the problem goes away. Reinstall and it happens all over again. Can you think of any settings I may need to look at to fix this? Great Video!

The GLD80 is great console for $800. They sound really fantastic, smooth, clear audio, great compressor. You can also add a Dante card and make it a real powerhouse of a console for live and the studio. It would rival Universal Audio interfaces. Onceyou understand the menus and overall design, it is easy to navigate for live shows.

The Chrome vs. Black series of A&H GLD and Qu are the same but for the fader caps. I think they just found it looking a little fresher and they wanted to present something new physically to emphasize major improvements that came with a firmware update. The GLD is basically a Linux PC controlling the audio processing. The PC's battery goes dead sooner or later, but this can be fixed by the user, DIY tutorials exist. Basically it depends on the condition of a GLD if I'd buy it or not. It has the extra processing modules for free that you'd buy extra in the SQ series. It doesn't have the built-in recorder, though. Can do only 48khz and you need the older stage boxes with the DSnake protocol (which are still available). Actually when offered a GLD in good condition for below 1000€, I might get weak, even though I own a SQ5. I have a DSnake eco system, though. I think the GLD 112 is more interesting when in need for a console giving you the overview. If spending money isn't an issue, get a SQ console new.

I'm not really sure what this thing is - you kept referring to it as a mixer - is that what they look like nowadays or is this a recorder as well? It seemed to have effects built in? I'm afraid I'm old school - still using a Crest Century desk with knobs on. Ah - just seen another video on it - it IS a mixer!
