Replacing the stock fan in my GVM P80S 80W with a Noctua NF-R8 redux-1200.
This project isn't just a simple fan swap, voltage supplied by the light PCB was ~29VDC and this needs to be stepped down to 12VDC for the Noctua fan to operate. **YOU MUST BE COMFORABLE WITH CIRCUIT DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION TO DO THIS FAN REPLACEMENT** It's not hard if you think it through and have the right tools and components, but it's ultimately up to your comfort level and skills to complete this fan swap. Pretty sure it will void the warranty on your light too. Proceed with this project at your own risk. On the plus side, the GVM P80S 80W is a simple COB light to do this sort of work on.
I sourced components and did the circuit schematic at Digi-Key www.digikey.com/
