2:40 There weren't any Raptors in the trailer actually. I believe you were referring to the ones in green with white helmets, and if so, then those are actually the Sons of Medusa based on the symbol. The rest seem to be Scythes of the Emperor as you said, Retributors like in the first one, Iron Champions with the painted skull helmets, and Angels Vermillion, though that one is harder to tell since the Blood Angels successors are all very similar. However in the scene where the Assault Marine is in the tunnel he has an Angels Vermillion symbol on his helmet so that's most likely.

As a Raptors fan, I was surprised and super-hyped, till I rewatched and saw the Sons of Medusa Chapter symbol. Oh well, still hyped for more Astartes, though!

Glad you're enjoying the Infinity game and lore, this is definitely an engaging setting to dive in! About the "pink haired lady" that you spoke of, that is just one of Aleph's "aspect" (kind of a fragment of the full AI) called Sibylla. Almost all AIs in Infinity (Aleph, the alien Evolved Inteligence, and even rogue AI like Svengalli) can fragment their conscience and put them in biosynthetic bodies (called L-hosts). The more advanced the body is, the stronger fragment of the AI it can hold. If you're interested in reading the lore, there's books that both expand and move the story forward, but one I usually encourage people to read is the RPG game made by Modiphius, it has tons of lore to read there. JSA are a tough faction to play as they specialise in close combat. For any infinity army I'd focus on a few elements. ARO pieces - you want around 2 models that are good at shooting to hold firelanes and dissuade your opponent from moving freely. Karakuri, Unit 9, and Raiden are good at this because they can have some longer range weapons. Karakuri are near impossible to kill too. Attack pieces - These move up the board scoring objectives and murdering things. Most of the JSA army is melee based so it shouldn't be hard to find these. Daiyokai are good at this, along with units like the Domaru Butai. Cheerleaders - Senku/Keisotsu are cheap units that are there to provide orders. If you only play big expensive models, you'll loose from your opponent out ordering you. Kamikaze units - These include drop troops, parachutist, infiltrators, etc. Units that cause maximum disruption of enemy lines but don't last long. Hackers - It's usually useful to have a killer hacker like a Nokizaru to defend your heavy armour and TAGs. Other hackers can be useful depending on who you play against. Stealth units - If your opponent knows there are likely to be invisible models or camo tokens, they can get really paranoid. Ninjas, Raiden, etc fill this roll. I rarely take ninjas with snipers as they often can deploy far up the board where that's useless. Good luck!

2:45 nah GW have already said in the article in warhammer community that the images of the trailer are NOT in the series sadly, and that the last word is indicative of what the series will be about. Aka: Deathwatch terminators. "This teaser trailer is not actually clips from the new animation, instead showing a compilation of shots that represent the former lives of the characters that will appear in the show. There’s a pretty unsubtle hint at the end as to the nature of the final story... We’ll leave you to speculate and start putting the pieces together yourselves." So they are going with terminators imo cause the design is basically the same primaris or not

Shikami, Oniwaban, and Shinobu Kitsune I see a lot. There’s a limited edition shikami which is next level. The oniwaban miniature is incredible. Also, the Tanko with Missile launcher is one of the coolest pose/sculpt I’ve seen

When it comes to expanding infinity you only 'need' a handful of grunts, I tend to bring 4 keisotsu and 1 kempeitei and have them sit in my backline in a core fireteam. As for fun models I would recommend the JSA Expansion Pack Alpha, it comes 2 ninjas (newer sculpts than the ones shown off in the vid), the same oniwaben in the action pack, a shikami, and Shinobu Kitsune. The Shikami is a really fun 2 wound model with lots of mobility, a ninja in power armor. Shinobu is an upgraded oniwaben character who is also really fun to use, and one of 2 martial arts lvl 5 characters.

The best part of Infinity is that you can win with almost anything. At one point, when I played (back in N3), the game was so balanced, you could win with anything. It's one of the things I love about the game. But, they're up to N5 now and I'm not sure what's changed. Very cerebral game. There are so many actions and counter actions that can be done every game. The Oyoroi is awesome. That's a fun piece to play and play against on the table. My favorite games were small 300 point lists with 10 models that were super efficient. TAGs are fun, but can be a lot of points that can be hard focused in a game, leaving you less effective overall.

I got into Infinity working at PAX Aus last year, and i ended up with 3 armies for the game: The new Kestrel Pano and Shindenbutai JSA from the N5 set, and then a bunch of Combined Army because I like aliens. I've gotten quite a few reps in with the game, though I've been playing without fireteams or hackers to keep the game simple while I learn. The N5 profiles from the box were really well designed to mesh together well. But I have the same problem of painting them really slowly because I want them to look good!!

Basically the Arquitor Magisteriums are mechanicus assassins who hunt hereteks. The pistol is an Archeotech pistol, and the sword is a Paragon Blade, which is a really fancy and powerful power weapon only available on certain characters like Praetors (captain equivalents)

Glory to the EI, might have a tac bow ninja laying around if you need it. Personally i think of infinity as right tool for the job. Need to clear a building? shotgun, long distance gunfight HMG/sniper rifle, ARO rocket launcher. The app that infinity has also is very good about list creation and helping you see what you have and what group a model might fit into. it has links in the app to the wiki for any questions you might have.

The best part about the alien AI is the Combined Amry made thier AI dumber than it could be on purpose. They made one before to help them ascend and it was smart enough to realize that it would suck to stick around and help them so it ascended itself and left them behind.

Its possible theyll make at least one event exclusive mini, a purchasable model eventually. Theyre just standard leaders as opposed to the traditional character. GW has sorta of been doing that over the years with a handful of event models. Also love have been loving the recent Ad Mech releases, very on theme and I agree the new one is bit more grimdark and gothic than usual

We're about to ban Yojimbo from our local gaming group. He is way too overpowered :D I play Tunguska Nomads- they are fun as hell!! And i'm about to start a Kestrel Colonial Army- from the new box sets, of course. My friend and i are splitting the Sandtrap Boxes - that's what i would recommend to every new player: Search a friend a split the boxes and start together. Infinity is sooo much fun!!

Hard disagree on what Aleph should look like. The one sure fire way to have people distrust a machine is to make it look scary. Having your AI that controls the world look like a demonic god is a surefire way to have everyone start rebelling. She can look otherworldly but I feel it should be in a comforting way, not a scary way. Or at the least she has two forms. A kind version for humanity and a scary version for humanities enemies.
