GW2 staff mirage vs. frogs Hero Challenge (Itzel Belongings)

This troublesome fights is particularly easy for mirage because the boss likes to focus whoever is closer, which is almost always a clone, and it lacks AoE damage so it is easy to keep clones alive. One clone per add was enough to kill them fast and then focus on the boss.

I didn't realize the clones died when the enemies died. I kept going "wth is killing all his clones at the start" till I saw the ads going down. I thought clones just redirect. It seems like Elite enemies with heavy ad support will require cleaving over direct targeting, otherwise you'll go through clones too fast.

Clones and phantasms die when their target dies, yes This build already has a lot of cleaving. The auto attack from you and your clones bounces, and Chaos Orb (the mirage staff dodge skill) hits 5 targets in a line, so it cleaves with good positioning The build also never struggles with clone generation, you summon 1 clone with each dodge and you dodge a lot. And clones summoned by dodging attack the nearest target, further helping with cleaving while you just keep attacking the main enemy

I hate how clones die with the enemy you target. This build is fine for big bosses and enemies. But it really sucks whenever there is a group of enemies you cant cleave

That has always been mesmer's weakness by design. Virtuoso fixes that, but removes clones
