She said she scrapped the 2015 album because she didn't write it so it didn't feel authentic. Which is fair enough. But this album the only thing she said was 'i just don't feel like I have anything to say right now" which is a crap excuse because she said she had like 30 songs. I reckon this one was on the label. I don't think they wanted her going down the ska/reggae route again. The two singles had all the ska reggae vibes drowned out in production and they were really pushing the appeal to the TikTok generation. And Gwen said she was doing this for the old skool fans.

Was this part of the Let Me Reintroduce Myself project? I like the sound of it but I think it wouldn’t have been a success… Somebody Else’s sounds more pop

It was and I don’t agree. Somebody Else’s and Bouquet as a whole were more soft rock, and the pop community at large have rejected Bouquet. The main fan base for that album seems to be the crossover audience she has with Blake. This 2020 project is a lot more pop and closer to her signature style. It feels like if Rock Steady leaned more pop.
