Kristine Smart, I am an RN at a big VA hospital. I can tell you that if you have constant neuropathic pain and bad circulation in your bad foot and the doctors can't do vascular surgery to fix it, I would not delay an amputation if the doctors suggest it. Here's why: my patients who had a lot of pain in their bad extremities report, without exception, they wish they'd done the surgery sooner because they lived with pain longer than necessary. After surgery, their pain was gone and they went forward with a prosthetic. I know you did not ask for my advice. Forgive me if I offended you. And darn tootin' you can dance up a storm with your prosthetic, right! (If it comes to that)

Ann Reinking and Gwen Verdon were close friends - from what I gathered based on my readings, Ann was the only girlfriend of Fosse that Gwen really liked and after Ann left Fosse due to his inability to commit to monogamy, she and Fosse still worked together but they weren't exactly on friendly terms. Gwen, on the other hand, became one of Ann's closest friends. That's why Ann was sitting in the front row of the studio audience - they were on Rosie to promote the Broadway production Fosse, which is essentially a tribute to Fosse. Ann absolutely had very high regards for Fosse and Gwen.

Look at the arrangement of the guest's chair and the host's desk. You see this is most american talk shows- the guest has to practically turn away from the audience in order to make eye contact with the host- as here. Or, as on David Letterman's set, his seat towered over the guest's, so that the guest had to look up. You get the impression that these talk shows are really about promoting the host rather than the guest. Compare it to the English equivalents-The Parkinson show ( from the 70s till about 10 years ago) or the current Graham Norton show, and the guests are front and centre.
@colind32735 жыл бұрын
Happens that way on James Corden's show as well. It appears that he patterns his set-up like Graham Norton's.
