she's the most unique & rarest tbh not just for Hollywood probably globally. there will never be another Gwen Stefani. she's the only one that has bunches of character/personality/persona/vibe in her. she's badass + goddess. rugged + classy. eccentric + glamorous. punk + stunning. tomboy + sexy. hot + cool. attitude + loveable. never see someone like her that has all these qualities/characters/vibes.

I agree. My ex Gf and I liked this song when it came out and then when we got into that part near the end with the "on again, off again" phase we would listen to it and it became even more powerful. That time without talking then the late night, 4 in the morning phone call with "I love you so much.../I miss you....". I feel like a lot of us have been there.

Everything about this song is magical. This is just one of the many millions of examples of how much feeling, emotion, yearning, pain, and yes even trust, a song like this one can conjure up. This to me is true art. Even if you can't relate to the lyrics, you still feel her raw feelings come through the vocals and the background vocals add a somewhat haunting but somberly beautiful melody to accompany the overall tone of the song. Beautiful

This is my favorite song of hers. That yearning to truly connect with the person you love. Not have him build a wall around a part of himself. Love should be all encompassing. I like to think it's still out there for me.

@Rubysparkle Rodriguez, I spent 4,5 years in a relationship that was like that. He just wouldn't open up, wouldn't let us truly be close. He couldn't in a way. It was really painful and I knew it wasn't going to work but it took me a very long time to leave because I couldn't stand the thought of hurting him. I don't know if you're in a similar situation, but at some point you need to let go if you are truly unhappy. Some people do know how and want to work on themselves, unpack the baggage of their past and cherish the love they have now, but some people just don't know how to achieve that. People don't know what they don't know. I wish you all the best. 🌺💖

Love this song and the upbeat frantic pace of the chorus. It’s catchy and also captures the desperation and back and forth of a fight. I think with hindsight this may have been what she often felt in her first marriage. I’m glad she seems happy now. Although it’s sad this version of Gwen is now in the past - the style, the music - it was all informed by a darker place. She gets to live and embody true happiness now

@terri40493 жыл бұрын
Miranda and Gavin were the cheaters. Miranda cheated on Blake with her married tour manager Ryan Westbrook, and Blake divorced her. She also broke up Blake’s first marriage, and Evan Felker’s while on tour with him. His wife blasted that one to the media. That happened after her divorce from Blake. She’s a married man chaser. Listen to her tell-all divorce song she wrote “Vice” where she sings about her addictions to alcohol and sleeping around. Blake made a mistake ever getting involved with her. It cost him 2 marriages and a lot of heartache. He’s wiser and more mature now. Gwen could relate to him. She stuck with a cheater for 20 years. She finally got the courage to kick Gavin to the curb after his 3 year affair with the nanny. Gwen and Blake do deserve one another after all the crap they both put up with for too many years.

This song is so telling. She wanted so much to be loved completely by Gavin and he wasn’t capable. She wanted her marriage to work and he just couldn’t give back, plus he couldn’t be faithful. I agree with you because it speaks of real love! Couples in general have forgotten what is love anymore? Because they focus too much in the physical or the appearance. Real love deals with true feelings coming from the heart? That is why this song highlights that he must do it right! Not to hold back those true love feelings for her, since she is not holding back at all.
@miguelgaviria39842 ай бұрын
Gwen Stefani was awesome in the early part of her career with the group No Doubt? But I just happen to run into these songs this particualr year. Gwen speaks with maturity and knowledge based on the love theme of the song. Partly, because of her relationships with men in general. Gwen is right by saying: that he must do it right? For the simple reason that men in general hold back their true love feelings and focus more in the physical (Women tend to be more emotional, while men are more physical incline to the beauty of their women). And for that reason the main theme of the song is that he must showed and tell her of his true feelings coming from his heart; therefore, he must do it right, since she is willing to do it right base on true feelings from the heart. She also wants his commitment not just to pass the time.

Baby, if we're gonna do it, come on, do it right All I wanted was to know I'm safe Don't wanna lose the love I found Remember when you said that you would change? Don't let me down It's not fair, how you are I can't be complete, can you give me more? And all I know is You've got to give me everything Nothing less 'cause You know I give you all of me I give you everything that I am I'm handin' over everything that I've got 'Cause I wanna have a really true love Don't ever wanna have to go and give you up Stay up till four in the morning and the tears are pouring And I wanna make it worth the fight What have we been doing for all this time? The bridge between the verse and chorus on this is one of the summits of pop music 01:03 - 01:22 02:26 - 02:45 03:31 - 03:50. Genius song writing and vocal performance

@@evaistheway Hello Dominique. I just wanted to state that in my opinion and limited musical knowledge, I feel it's rare for songwriters to give much attention to that part of a song, either lyrically or melodically, compared to the chorus, or maybe the verses. In most pop music it's these parts that are usually the focus of attention for listeners. I'm sure I'm wrong about this and other people can provide many other obvious examples which disprove my assertion, but the bridges on '4 In The Morning' are just what appeals to me the most about it, they enhance the bittersweet nature of the track and make it flow along - Stefani and Tony Kanal don't get enough credit for this great song.

@@evaistheway I think what he means is they unusual key change between the verse and the chorus, most pop songs nowadays have the same chord progression throughout the whole song, but the unexpected and unusual key change in this song makes it so special, I personally LOVE IT, when the chorus drops... DAMN. you can hear it more clearly in the instrumental version: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJW1qZR8Z6tgfbM

I think what you mean is the key change from the intro/verse to the chorus, it is unusual for pop songs nowadays to use this element. I love this song, and also like to listen to the instrumental version without Gwen's vocals, the production is superb, there you can really notice the key change: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJW1qZR8Z6tgfbM

Moon, that is so heartbreakingly true. The sad thing that they don't tell you about "true love", is that what it really means is being able to love your partner enough so as to allow you to love them the way that they WANT to be loved, and not the way that YOU want to love them.

I miss when music was this deep that you'd go to sleep w/it on repeat thinking about that one person. Unfortunately pop culture changes with the times my friends. The generations will skip through finding themselves just as it did in our younger days. The passion behind the music will get back here one day... its INEVITABLE. ✌🏾

THIS WHOLE BEAT IS MAGICAL awesome rnb influences on the drum, beautiful melody that kinda reminds you of 80's pop like cyndi lauper, and that amazing key switch at the chorus kicks everything into euphoria wrapped up in late 2000's pop production. impossible not to bop your head.
