Gwent | STATUS NILFGAARD IS BECOMING A REAL THREAT

Last season I thought I was onto something with my status Nilfgaard Masquerade Ball deck, but things just got better with the provision buff to Masquerade Ball and the rework to Tesham Mutna Sword. In this video I talk card selection, reasoning and strategy before playing 5 games with commentary for reference.

i don’t want to jinx myself but this deck is virtually unstoppable. even been great using the blightmakers to splash poisons on Saskias or for Vincent set ups later

First deck I played after patch was your old version of this deck with Tesham Mutna just swapped out for Cupbearer, Anna Henrietta did feel kinda weak though, this version looks a lot better!

Qcento love the content! You shouldn’t have poisoned the Damien at 22:05. You could have kept on using leader for infinite ones. The opponent gave up anyways 😅

1:01:10 slight mistake. You locked the succubus which was already doomed. Should have doomed the toad instead to block their first deathwish card in the next round from being auto consumed.

Built this deck maybe two or three weeks ago, and from Rank 18 I got to Rank 14! Changed this a bit by using Crystal Skull as my stratagem.

It's one of those decks that are strong against certain decks but absolutely weak against many others. I mean what can you do against elves, SY swarm that rely on swarming and have few to no tall units ? I just got demolished vs these two decks just now and i am sure i could have done nothing to prevent it.

Definitely. Swarm, hand buff, control, or deploy decks are absolutely stronger. There's no real strength to the cards on their own, the deck has only two "tutors", and if your two (three with the Ball) engines get controlled in a long round, you're pretty much done for. Its only real worth is against engines or tall decks.

Qcent what do you think about replacing emissary with Van Moorlehem Servant? Sure, it means less direct points, but copy pasting statuses from one to another boosts Dame + herself, and can easily provide another target for mutna sword

I like ball, but I've been playing my adjusted golden nekkar nilfgaard (no not mil) and it's been pushing back every ball deck I've faced. I dont think I've faced your list yet, alot I've seen are greedy with Damien but my nekkar deck has alot of control options which is making it hard for the poisons to find big value. Idk I really feel like nekkar should've been nerfed to 11 provisions with wording changed to if the rest of your starting deck has only 9 prov or less then use the effect.

Realistically we only want ball going into round 3 otherwise the opp can bleed it out earlier. I haven't had an issue with 4 tactics since we also have BM thinning and mulligans. I wouldn't do any less though.

You could drop a Nilfgaardian Knight or Alba Armored Cavalry for an Ard Feainn Tortoise or Nauzicaa Sergeant.

Hey my friend. I am enjoying your content. I only have one suggestion. Can you possibly start making the volume of your videos louder? Example: I have to turn my volume up so much to hear you that when a commercial plays (and they play often) the commercial pierces my ears because it's so much more louder than your video. 1p reduction on the Ball isn't enough, IMO. The card is extremely slow (not that I dislike the Dame, but still it's slow) and no other card of the archetype has been buffed significantly. I am not against and the possibility of the deck being better, I love it and have been playing it anyway in April, but much more than this is needed to make it competitive. I'll be happy to be proven wrong tho lol

Correct. Can't give any other status to something that has veil but can give veil to something that has any other status.
