Nice one. I got the same model three days ago, second hand. Some hints: Use preheated water that saves you fuel. The piston rod is mounted incorrectly. There must also be an opening for oiling. You can also see it from the fact that there is no opening for oiling on the screwed joint between the piston rod and piston. Both openings seem to be at the bottom due to the incorrect assembly, but they should be at the top. Just unscrew and turn. When oiling, the steam valve must be closed so that no oil can be pressed into the steam boiler. That can be dangerous. When oiling, unscrew the oiler screw, pour in oil and then turn the flywheel a few times with the oiler open so that the oil is sucked into the cylinder.

I also wanted to write that the connecting rod sits upside down on the crankshaft. 👍 But why should it be dangerous if oil gets into the steam boiler? Of course, you should always close the valve when you open the lid of the oiler so that no steam escapes and the oil flows into the cylinder. To avoid corrosion I intentionally put some oil in my steam boiler, this protects the brass from possible dezincification, I think, in any case the oil doesn't bother. I also use the condensed water several times that I obtain in a homemade condenser, and this water contains some oil, which does not cause any difficulties.

A very well built and good running model steam engine from Germany. it has lots of features like the pressure gage and blow down valve used in the full sized live steam engines.

way is the water lever so low in the boiler? you have to make sure there's enough water in it other wise if the boiler runs dry the heat will damage it

Yes, sterno or gel fuel sold off brand type of sterno is almost odorless when burning, it's made for food afterall.

Fairly sure the bulb in a LED soldered in, not screwed in. Yes use the larger pulley. Don't let the water level down below 1/4 -1/3 of glass, you could start compromising solder joints

The oil on the pulley of the dynamo could be causing the spring to slip and not grab like it should thus causing the pulley not to spin as fast as it should. The old style ones used a incandescent bulb but the newer ones from 2005 maybe a bit later or so used LED bulb. you can use a ohm meter to check the leads to the dynamo to the bulb. Take the leads off and check and if there is an issue youll need to disassemble the light post or try to screw the older style bulb in.

​ @Tazz Man286 No, as I know, like my D18 model too, it has a pulley with notches on both the fly wheel pulley and the pulley of the generator, so the spring belt can't slip.
