+mathias johansen Tuba's my primary instrument, baritone is a work in progress, and piano's secondary, but I don't think I'm bad at it. I'm mostly a brass guy but if I had to choose a string it would definitely be cello. I love the range and overall sound of it. If I ever get the time, I will try to learn it.

how did it go with the gliss? The adagio is - to me - the harder movement. The Capriccio comes hard to learn, but to play in concert the first one is the one to take really good care of. Also thos glissandos...!

@@mathiasjohansencellist I heard it played 15 yars ago and it was so fresh in my memory. He disliked the influence Bartok had over his early work. Since I like Bartok too, I can not see anything evil in this. It was probably difficult for Ligeti to become wholy independent of this overwhelming influence.

***** Hi Dymitri, thank you very much. What is your definition of modern academic music exactly? I'm planning a project for cello and piano and we'll have some awesome music written and play only contemporary pieces!
@Dami_bel9 жыл бұрын
Some musicologists like Fubini consider the music made after 1945 (The year when started some composition classes by the hand of Webern) as the "Contemporary Academic music" because from that point all the "Musical Rules" (Even Schoenberg's) were abandoned. The point is that each country has it's guide to understand the musical history. In this case it is the Italian (And therefore Spanish) point of view. I'm fervently waiting for that music. Regards and good luck,maestro.
