This was a good episode! The new look was well suited to her coloring and figure, the hair was good, and it was something that could be tried by your average audience person. Whether the person trying out the new look ends up liking it or not, it’s healthy to see people trying new (attainable, practical) looks. It’s great to be able to try something and see what it feels like.

I love the Alternative styles. I worried the goth/gyaru style was dying out and there are no new people coming into it. In my oppinion I love women with thier own styles or visual flair.Traditinal look is nice, but its such a prescribed look it dousent fit everyone. So sad people are so rude to her, she looks amazing. I'd kill to find someone like her, they're so rare and brave to stand out from the crowd.

I really love how she has this really unique family who still obviously has so much love and respect for her one way or another 💜 Like, even her stepdad who clearly treats her like a bio kid as he should still doesn't try to control her. He literally only prefers the mild outfit bc of the fact that it would make her life in society easier and it's protective. Not a bad reason to favor the latter outfit as a father/parent figure.

How is "someone's purest form" = an obvious wig, still a lot of makeup but applied by someone else, and clothes that don't belong to them? And the stylist said they were going for Instagram model - are Instagram models showing us their purest form? How in any way is this the person being transformed's purest form? OMG they are so beautiful and stunning person, the aunt (who is also VERY pretty!) said it right, they could wear a trashbag and be amazing 😍😍. But I love their normal gyaru-like look more, as a person who's very into alt fashion from a young age as well, I'm amazed by those amazing accessories details and the fact they're making/upcycling their own clothes! Fashion is fun, creative self-expression giving one wearing it the confidence, that's how it should be 🥰. The makeup isnt gyaru at all, which is the most important part. She is gorgeous and her fashion is very on point with agejo and rokku gyaru, if you want to get specific. She might take inspiration from gyaru but for those curious, this isn’t typically what the makeup style is like. Im glad gyaru is getting a big resurgence and tiktok has been a great place to connect and share inspo but it’s also super easy to warp one thing into something completely different. If you’re looking to join the culture of gyaru, #1 tip i can give is to have fun but #2 is to please learn the history and pay attention to each nuance of the substyles

The wig is giving Hanna Montana vibes lol. I'm a grandma and I was goth in my teen years and now my oldest granddaughter is also goth, which I think is pretty awesome! Rin looks great either way, but I love and prefer her personal style. You can see her personality shine more when she dresses the way she feels more comfortable. While I understand where her stepdad is coming from, wanting her to look more "natural" to have more career opportunities, he needs to realize that dressing conservatively will not guarantee her career success. Her personal style can also play a huge part in what secures her future opportunities, depending on what she wants to do in her life. Many people become successful cosplayers and earn a living that way. She can sew, so making cosplay outfits or having a fashion line based on her personal taste can be a possible career where she can dress how she wants. Stepdad just needs to let her be herself.

The provocative outfits in the way she is styling them (bare midriff, super short skirts, etc) as well as the black eyeshadow and winged liner aren’t really very gyaru from what I have ever seen of gyaru. The over the top aesthetic is very gyaru, but not the stuff she’s pulling together - again, from what I have seen of the Japanese gyaru. I would suggest to her to tone down the black and wear more “cutesie” styles for her gyaru look in order to nail it a bit closer to the Japanese style of gyaru. I agree that the clothing they put her in for the “regular” look is very boring. She could marry most of that “normal” makeup look with some outlandish pink eye-shadow, huge eyes and little girl styled clothes, coupled with some of those awesome boots she has to get a more Japanese style gyaru look. If you look at gyaru on KZbin or online, you see that they are much more clothed and the colours are a lot lighter both in clothing and makeup. It is styled as over the top “little girl” cute. This would still turn heads, but would probably get rid of the majority of the negativity towards her look.
