You actually only need an opening on one of the sides. The main piece and the lining can be turned through the one side 10:19. Hope that helps

Thank you for sharing! I need a book sleeve for the book that bumps around in the car. Just a side note, I am glad I watched this video, my Singer is noisy like yours. I thought I was doing something wrong (not enough oil or tension) due to the noise. How is it my mother's Singer from the 60s and quieter than the more recent ones? Craftsmanship isn't what it used to be. Sad.

You'd want to sandwich the ties between the main fabric and lining before stitching at about 8:45

I set my machine on a three but every machine is a bit different with their stitch settings. You want your regular stitch length to be somewhere in the middle of whatever range your sewing offers.
