The moment button is the biggest selling point for me! That is missing completely in this vid! The Wi-fi is the ONLY speaker in that size range which has an auto-off timer which can be DISABLED! And it can be set up for reconnecting automatically when turned on! All those features are missing in the Bluetooth only version! I personally don't care about wifi. I just want to have more control over the device.

I've the charge 5 wifi sounds a little louder and if it's connected to wifi it sounds even better. I chose it because its battery is bigger and I didn't think partyboost was a major thing for me

I have Denon AVR. There is distinct difference between bluetooth and wifi playing sound.

The loss in quality of audio on BT is unavoidable that's exactly why speakers which can play directly from streaming sites exist. Lossless, higher quality audio!!! Unless you are an audiophile, spending THAT MUCH EXTRA is not really worth it but if budget isn't an issue then wifi enabled audio devices are definitely superior

@@akcaikerenthey played around with the eq Too, Bass at 70% is distorting and even tough it gets a bit louder than the xtreme 3 at max volume, it has less bass at that volume

sounds good when it chose to work though Bluetooth but disconnect or connects but no sound. Keep resetting it but no joy. Haven’t tried Wi-Fi. Would not recommend never had any issue on any device before. So ZERO stars for me

One question that isn't making sense: charge 5 has a 7500mah battery, good for "20 hrs" playback. The charge 5 wifi has a 14400mah battery, also good for "20 hrs" playback. How is the charge 5 wifi not playing for many more hrs??? Wifi doesn't consume even near as much energy as Bluetooth, and even if so, use that speaker in Bluetooth mode and wouldnt we be comparing apples to apples here???

I place a while lot of reliance on your reviews.. but it seemed the loss of party boost feature took your attention away from the biggest dividend of the new Wifi capability: Speaker Group Function. Add the ability to continue playing music even when receiving calls on your phone (for example) and you'd appreciate this feature. Keep up the good work though you made me search out another reviewer today: New Stuff Tv. He did a good job too. Cheers

You didn’t even mention the primary audio spec difference! The standard model is 1 X 40 watts into both the tweeter and woofer simultaneously. The WiFi model has them powered and amplified separately - 1 X 30 watts to the woofer, 1 X 10 watts to the tweeter.
