For people who are asking for Part 8: this is how the play ends. It seems abrupt but indeed this part 7 is the way the play ends. I have seen this full production elsewhere and i have the book.

I had a feeling from the beginning that these two were always mean to each other because deep down they liked each other. I don't think this is the end, it's cut off too abruptly. I'd imagine they stay stuck there and by the end of it they realise they love each other.

I just love this, and watch it often. Wondering about the abrupt ending, I googled the synopsis. Wikipedia says that the Duke and Maria pretend to be romantically involved to make the others jealous, but end up marring each other. WOW! ????? But that's what it said'!
