Ok my old trainer/friend used to take me to the barn almost every day with her (she lived only like 5 minutes away and we were good friends still friends just not as good) and every time I would go to sit down she would have to throw stuff to the backseat because her car was always dirty usually horse tack and change of clothes in case they got dirty she once even had a brand new muck bucket in her backseat that she left in there for a week I mean she could’ve opened a tack store out of her car

walk up to it, let her sniff it, circle back and march right in. Works every time for us, but all horses and ponies are different.

@@c..si.mo.ne.ll.i Thanks a bunch i'll try that bc I have camp tmrw
@classproject47893 жыл бұрын
Be patient. work with her on it even when you are not going anywhere. lunge her away from the trailer, then let her investigate the trailer as a break. Use a whip/crop to tap and encourage her on and release pressure to reward her for moving closer/ putting a foot on. if she loses interest or walks away go back to lunging and let her rest standing by the trailer.
@elizaporter68763 жыл бұрын
@@classproject4789 OK i'll try that as well thanks😅
@dorotheaweber79353 жыл бұрын
when she's really panic at getting on the trailer it also helps if you're doing some other exercises around the trailer so she gets used to it's presence. Over time she'll get used to it and won't be that afraid anymore. Then lunging really helps as "Class Project" has described. Just take your time and take small steps.
