We tried INDONESIAN food in THE NETHERLANDS - (vegetable) Indomie, Kue bacon & Nata de coco

In this video I am in my hometown Maastricht which is located in The Netherlands. Together with a friend we are going to do some Indonesian grocery shopping and eat different types of Indonesian food/drinks! Any "goreng" means fried, the rest must be with the water for soup but dont ever add too much to the bowl since the flavor will be bland

There are two kinds of Indomie.. "Mie goreng" And "Mie kuah" ( fried noodles and Soup noodles) The soup noodles will taste very salty if you don't add water

if you cook the indomie properly, the taste must be amazingly delicious, so please differentiate between fried noodles which are dry and soup noodles which are wet (gravy). So if the noodle soup is served like fried noodles, it will taste salty. I think the taste of Indonesian noodles is the best

For you guys, I guess you can find nice and cheap Indonesian/Chinese foods in Den Haag/Rotterdam. It is kinda hard to find nice and cheap one in Maastricht. I am at the Netherlands and trying to eat Indonesian foods wherever I go around visiting other cities in the Netherlands and I found out this fact :) What to do in Indonesia would be a lot, Susan. I think a nice hiking would do, as there are no mountains here and I can't call Vaalsenburg a mountain at all. Perhaps diving is another thing also in Bali, Indonesia. Or, you could try to travel like Kristian Hantoro, Danish guy who is on his lovely bike doing European stuffs in Indonesian soils :) Grootjes van Eindhoven, Susan

Coco pandan means coconut flavor mixed with Pandan leaves. Goreng have to serve it dry after you boiled the noodles, no water. others than that, have to add about a cup of water you boiled the noodle with .. known asl 'Mie Rebus'

Hi Susan, recently just watching your videos about trying Indonesian food, I actually just wanna share as locals. Basically, I'm locals from Medan (North Sumatra) and just wanna share to you that there are some Indomie that are actually eat with soup and mixed it with eggs and chili which makes great flavor, perhaps you should try. If it's saying Indomie Goreng means it's fried indomie cause goreng means fried and if its just like chicken curry, basically it comes with soup. I don't know if you do enjoy culinary, I think you should try Tabona Restaurant in Medan City (Sumatra) which basically serves rice noodle with chicken or beef curry broth

Hi, let me tell you about coco pandan. actually, coco pandan flavour is one of the popular flavours of drink in Indonesia in which the flavour originally comes from pandan leaves ( a tropical plant) which then are mixed with coconut water. you can find it a lot in Indonesian drinks like syrup, cake and pudding.

You can try (reference) Mie A B C (name of packaging) if it's for sale in the Netherlands, it tastes a bit spicy with various flavors such as rendang, chicken curry, beef curry etc.

Sambal with shrimp is "sambal udang" and it's usually homemade, not mass produced. Of course you can make it from whatever sambal in jar that you like, just add dried or fresh shrimp and stir fry.

A tips for making Indomie. If you dont find a word "Goreng" or "Fried" it means you must eat with the broth/soup.... :)

Hahahahaaaa, as a fan of Indonesian instant noodles, you should be able to modify yourself or combine several flavors so that what you have bought and created with spices in your kitchen will definitely taste delicious as well as what you want, good luck, The noodle ingredients can be of any variant, for example, if you use a gravy which you want to make fried, you just need to reduce half of the seasoning that is created with fried egg topping and you can also add vegetables such as mustard greens which are boiled first and added with chili sauce and soy sauce. sweet, the taste is okay too, you can taste the fried instant noodles with the taste of soto lamongan with lime or lime flavor, chicken curry, and there are others, heheheheee, good luck with the other variants.
