It's great idea.. I think if we build a device (Android) based on raspberry pi then It will be much easier to log footage on shoot... [or may be a gopro to only log the gyro data. Tho, it will require additional storage to copy the video data]

The gryoflow team also developed Flowshutter, a firmware for gyro recorders that do what the SteadXP does. It costs ~120USD for the device so I'd stick to a phone haha

I sold my a6000 a while ago lol, this video was shot on the Lumix G7. When I had the a6000 I used the Sigma 30mm f1.4. Loved that lens, I can highly recommend it.

Hi, I have a question. I have the iPhone 14 Pro Max. I'm not a professional, but I really like editing and recording videos (especially real estate videos). I want to use Gyroflow to stabilize some shots because even though I use a stabilizer (Hohem), I feel that in long shots, the walking is noticeable, and in the orbit-type shots, some movement is noticeable. How can I record the gyroscope movement? Because the iPhone doesn't give me the necessary data. I have an Insta360 X3 camera, does it help? In this case, would I need to set the same number of frames on both and the same resolution? But is there any issue when switching lenses on the iPhone (from normal to wide-angle)?

Hey man, i tried this method by mounting a phone to my camera. But the data reading never seems allign with footage when i export gyro files into gyro flow. My question is, what is your orientation of the phone during recording the gyro data?

heard it works best if you mount it as if the phone was laying flat on a table, screen up

I think it varies by device so you can experiment or you can use the auto orientation feature

@@jugger2333 it worked for one video but then it didnt for another next few videos. I think my phone’s calibration is quite wrong? Maybe..i dont know why but kinda give up on this already though it is a clever idea.

I was about to splurge on an expensive gimbal but this tip made me think twice. I already mount an 8 inch tablet on my camera as a monitor, why not just use the sensor logger app to stabilize footage in post? It's awesome how much you can achieve nowadays as a videography cheapskate

iirc the gyro logger app records in the background, so you can start the log and switch to another app

Thanks for the idea and the video. Although I was about to stop watching early in your video as this weird cut to the cyborg? robot? came. Why? Voice was hard to understand. By the way the Audio is difficult to understand on a device with normal to cheap loudspeakers, e.g. the piano music was too loud etc. You have probably high quality Hi-Fi loudspeakers or a Dolby System, but remember to adjust and tune to the lowest standards your viewers might use :-))) Keep up the ideas and good luck and success!

Audio was perfectly fine on all of my systems, not having a device with good speakers is a problem that the viewer has to deal with, not the producer reducing their quality. Watch some older GxAce videos and you will understand the voice change 👍
