Gyrocopter through the Central Lake District in real time

After departing from Cark parachute airfield, this is a real-time flight through the glorious central Lake District on a perfect spring day with my eldest son. Once reaching Newby Bridge at the southern tip of Windermere, the flight proceeds in real time all the way up Windermere to Ambleside before turning west to fly over the Langdale Pikes, north to Borrowdale, Derwent Water, Cat Bells, Keswick then east beneath Skiddaw and Blencathra to land at Troutbeck/Keswick.
There is audio commentary throughout, recorded in flight. It is a little distorted due to ongoing helmet compatibility problems; hopefully my new made-to-order helmet will make the audio clearer on future flights, for me and for you.

the Silver Fox flies again! another great video. My favorites usually include lakes and mountains and especially the Snowdonia flight in the snow, which is something to behold. The closest thing to flying in a gyro from the comfort of your armchair!

​@@StuWithAView I watched the flight out over Wales to the airfield on the north west tip in the Eurofox . I think the young lady in the passenger seat summed it up well when comparing it to the Gyro, the fact the with a gyro, especially in the front you have a fantastic view as well as having an easier time of spotting traffic. The best thing is that of feeling alive for at least a week after the flight. I really appreciate the effort once again, Lake district and the Dambuster run but my favorite is still Snowdonia. The pilot instinct which seems to be more prevalent in Gyro training for keeping an eye out for a landing site in case of engine failure at first brings panic. Then you take into account that you are at 3000 feet and that the Gyro glides well concepts that are vitally important to happy flying. Again many thanks for posting.

Great video. I'm in the lakes a lot but never seen the views from an aircraft apart from Msfs. Must be a joy to fly a gyrocopter.

@@StuWithAView if 'seaplanes' were not banned from operating on Windermere would be ideal place for flying a STOL float gyro/microlight from as its alot quieter than nearby Lakeside or up near Bowness. Watching your video was quite hard identifying places I know like the back of my hand from on the water :-). Love your videos, keep up the good work. Karl

Awesome video; the 360 camera shots are really great. Where exactly is that camera mounted? Also, didn't realize the UK had that kind of terrain/landscape. Very unique and interesting!

It was fine; hardly any wind at all. I’ve done this trip quite a few times and it can get very turbulent as the wind is funnelled through the narrow valleys; but not on this day 😊
