I really love playing TCG, and I got tired of building the same deck over and over. I decided to make a new one but had absolutely no idea where to start. After doing some research on what my next deck should be, I chose control, and this was definitely helpful for the building of my new one.

I don't play control myself, more of a rouge/gimmick deck gal. But playing against good control/ block/ mill decks like Obstagoon and Vikavolt is certainly less boring than playing against ADPZ. At least then I'm losing in a unique and interesting way

@@batpool2787 ADPZ refers to a deck that revolves around Arceus, Diagla & Palkia Tag team GX m (ADP, it’s a single card) and Zacian V. It’s a good combo that allows you to take extra prizes for every KO, and it makes it difficult for control to win because only needing to take 3 KOs is much easier than 6

thank you so much for your great videos on the pokemon tcg! i couldn't find ANYONE else who explains so in depth and thoughtfully how to build decks but mostly importantly WHY the cards are there. hopefully you'll come back, hope life is good for you!!

As a fellow control player who loves playing control decks whether it is stuck in active, can't attack, energy removal, or defensive stall or prevention they all are so much more fun and intellectual to play. There are a whole lot of wise words in here... among them "Alot of it is improvising each turn based on what your opponent does, whereas other decks just altered creation and then swing hard every turn, I find myself paying attention to what my opponent does more than I do with other decks" in other words ADPZ is for rock head dummies who don't want or cannot think more deeply utilizing a control strategy. It is why it should be banned too because it severely limits control decks to be able to control (since it alters creation to extra prize cards cheat). Two of the better decks in format right now obatagoon and decidueye are forms of control/stall decks. More coming with altaria. This is not leaving the game and it never has. It is always more interesting end enjoyable to play against these decks too than it is to play against the annoying cheat ADPZ.

Mad Party is a great single prize deck, and it's definitely budget friendly. Another great option is Decidueye/Obstagoon, though that might get shaken up with champions path and the new Altaria

Control decks are some of the most enjoyable decks in this game. Getting to lock someone feels so rewarding and fun. It’s more enjoyable than swinging with a tag team or VMax for huge damage.

As for people not liking it, I really don’t care what they think/feel. I find it fun and no one can stop me from playing it. If these cards are legal, nothing is stopping me from playing them.

Very true indeed! For me when playing against control in person, it's nice though to try and keep a fun atmosphere
