hey John thanks for doing this video, at first i was intimidated about putting a grounded 3 prong plug on my power cord. I had a jamma cab I converted to a Ninja Gaiden and it didnt have the ground plug and after watching you do it I felt I could and Im happy to say it was my first time and it was a success!, thanks a bunch

You are correct. I really did not explain that correctly. Thank you for pointing this out. I am going to add a notation to the video at that point. Thanks again.

You have to always do the tug-test when installing wires like that. I learned that during my apprenticeship the hard way.

oh yeah getting a machine and finding the grounding strip was removed, I feel you on that one. I came into possession of a Gunblade NY (one of the monster 50'' in. versions... won off the internet long story short) and when it arrived I noticed it was missing that one day... so had to replace that asap!

I was following this thread just to see the tube replacement process. The guy you mentioned in the ealier video that has the arcade monitor to TV tube list does he have that posted somewhere? I love to have that information to bring these things back to near original condition. Thanks for making these videos. They have helped me tremendously with my collection.

If you were to hang your parts with a bent coat hanger, the result is better, and they dry quicker because they aren't sitting there surrounded by wet paint. (and you wouldn't be painting your garage floor) lol Keep up the good work John : )l

I have tried a wire brush on my drill and it does work. I like using the palm sander better. More control. :)

Not boring, stuff people need to understand. My star wars cockpit is getting re-assembled soon which has been a long wait. Pity you didn't film the tube swap. Any chance your friend will let you film the next one he does?

how did you get that copy?.
@Darryl6038 жыл бұрын
If you did need to replace the entire power cord for whatever reason, you can use an exterior grade 8" extension cord and cut the female end off and connect it to your game.

For the price you pay for those replacement plugs, you could just about buy a brand new cord with a molded-on plug. Just look for 16/3 SJT cord/cable (SJT has heavy-duty insulation compared to SVT). You can get 8 to 10 foot ones for $7 or $8 shipped, on eBay all day long. For example - www.ebay.com/itm/Prime-brand-Power-16-3-SJT-8-foot-2-m-3-Prong-Power-Supply-Cord-PS010608-/252540029062?hash=item3acc8f0886:g:bVcAAOSwbYZXYsYR
