The only reason the japanese are so outspoken about nuclear weapons is to make them look like the victim during WWII, ask them why they were on the receiving end of nuclear weapons and watch how fast the topic goes sideways...

@@thewolfofswingthat2035 that argument could work against the US citizens if, God forbid, we receive a nuclear attack. Is it fair for the citizens to get bombed? Nuclear weapons are not fair for the people who pay for their government’s geopolitical agendas.

Ian always provides solid balanced commentary. It does feel however that the world is in some sort of cold war environment given everything unfolding out there though.

Good talk though as an Israeli with a day by day understanding of the Middle East I disagree with the statement that Netanyahu does not want peace and prosperity and a cooperative just and equitable end to the current conflicts. But the west allows the obvious reality to be subverted by its inability to accept what the pro Muslim Brotherhood and Palestinian street and Iran terrorist say and do openly and privately.

Iran getting nuclear weapons is the biggest geo political issue we aren’t focusing on. It doesn’t look like anyone can really stop them save a boots on the ground intervention. Once they test a successful weapon, Saudi and the gulf states will quickly go nuclear. We are on the brink of a nuclear Middle East.

No, it's not the biggest geopolitical issue. Ukraine is. Only Russia is interested in strarting the global nuclear war.

The US doesn't wield the same influence in the present day as it did back in the 80s. It can't tell Israel to do anything. The US could cut funding tomorrow and it won't change Israel's mission in the ME.

I don’t even think they could find somebody cutthroat like Kissinger anymore they’ll get some ideologue or somebody that has only bad choices and is too afraid to make one. Damn didn’t knew US was at war with any middle eastern country right now? Remind who stop each other in Middle East form striking either side for no benefit of itself as low oil prices which US does not buy? The world connects in the Middle East and the us doesn’t need any of them, but for some reason keeps the peace? It’s hilarious you bring up WW2 as if post war Japan isn’t a better country for the world and the Japanese themself

Ian really is a master orator. He really knows how to command a room. I disagree with his statement on Israel and the US being at fault for not bringing an end to the conflicts there. The status quo isn’t something that we can go back to there because it was never tenable in the first place.
