@@Swedishpolymath Kurds may not last that long with HTS/SNA (propped up by Turkey) pushing them from the west, and Turkey bombing them from the north. Times are dire for our closest allies.

President Biden will be remembered as a man who stepped into the White House at a time of unprecedented crises: • The worst pandemic in a century, • The worst attack on our nation’s capital since 1812, the culmination of the outgoing president’s attempt to overturn an election and overthrow our democracy and illegally hold on to power after losing an election, • Hundreds of thousands dead from a preventable disease, • Millions living like shut-ins, many of them losing their jobs and facing eviction and foreclosure, and coping with shortages of everything from medical supplies to toilet paper, • An enveloping worldwide economic collapse, the worst since the Great Recession, and • An opposition party standing opposed to his very legitimacy after voting to oppose the certification of the Electoral College vote that declared him President of the United States. Undeterred and with indomitable and unflinching optimism, President Biden went about implementing a national recovery, presiding over the life-saving vaccinations of millions of Americans, repairing our cratering economy with the addition of 16 million jobs, mending our strained relations with allies and trading partners, bringing manufacturing jobs back to our shores, combatting high costs of prescription drugs and healthcare service, and relieving millions of Americans from the crushing burden of student loan debt - all despite unrelenting opposition from half of the Congress and half the populace. He saved this country from a depression, presided over the creation of 16 million jobs, boosted our energy independence and resilience with unprecedented investments into renewable energy and climate change remedies, expanded the strength and stability of NATO, repaired relations with our allies, and restored our standing and prestige on the world’s stage. You, on the other hand, sound like an idiot.

@RandyAbraham-xf5qp Yes. The president has great authority when it comes to foreign policy. "Biden's" foreign policy from Afghanistan to the Ukraine war has been a disaster. Who is in charge?

I’m going to stop you right there. Trump, not Biden, led the talks on the pullout agreement, freed 5000 Taliban fighters from prisons, ordered all US military airbases including Bagram closed, excluded the Afghan government from talks by negotiating exclusively with the Taliban, and left only 2500 US troops to deal with the eventual day of reckoning - even though his own advisors warned him that such a drastic troop drawdown would be dangerous and would jeopardize our pullout, which he had scheduled for 2021. His own national security advisor called him out on this. On Ukraine, President Biden enlisted a 50-nation coalition to help Ukraine defend itself against Russia’s illegal, brutal, and unprovoked invasion. Despite Putin’s assurances that Ukraine would fall in two weeks, Ukraine is still standing. To what do you object?

Would Russia gaining the donbas be considered a loss in eyes of Russia? Seems like no real strategic value. They already had Crimea.

It would be a terrible loss. As would Odessa too… which would burden them with all sorts of unnecessary problems. Ukrainians should retreat from both & deliver Russia a strategic loss

Ask Trump, he created the plan. Trump led the talks on the pullout agreement, freed 5000 Taliban fighters, excluded the Afghan government by negotiating exclusively with the Taliban, ordered all US military air bases including Bagram closed, and left only 2500 US troops to deal with the eventual day of reckoning - even though his advisors warned him such a drastic troop drawdown would be dangerous. @RandyAbraham-xf5qp Trump already responded to that counterfactual. He said that he wouldn't have gone ahead with it under those circumstances. So we have an answer from him already but I've never heard an explanation from Sullivan, who was in power.
