This song is exactly what I’m going through right now... “If I let you, don’t take me for granted... if I’m worth more than you could manage... If you want me, don’t take me for granted...” Literally my life rn... Why, as women, do we give guys so many chances knowing they don’t deserve it. I’ve realized, I do it because there’s always that thought that they really care about you enough to change their way in some aspect... it’s not the case tho... If someone shows you who they are, especially more than once, believe them...

This song exudes words of affirmation (love language), accountability, humility, care, vulnerability, submission, and sincerity. As a man I am fully revived at the display of accountability that the song writer displays in the lyrics of H.E.R being the Master of her Fate and the Captain of her soul. Why though it may only be song, this is the degree of transparency and labor that is required for a successful bond or relationship!

@@lnfinitystoner How did you turn this harmless comment into something negative? Uplifting black women is by no means "simping." Not once did he mention being oppressed but you rarely see a black woman get these kind of numbers this day and age without being incredibly sexualized or involved in a lot of controversy. Can we not be proud of having someone the kids can actually look up to? You having a problem with this sweet comment just shows the problems you have within yourself. Ok wtf has just be happened to me. I am a 52 year old white man...can prove as I have videos in here from a decade ago. Not music related. But saw H.E.R. at the Super Bowl and was impressed. A month goes by and she pops up on my feed 4 days ago. Shit..I have bumped this and Every Kind of way 100 times. Been married 29 years and wife is laughing her ass off at me. Now I’m humming quietly under my breath. The beat, spin on lyrics, flow and pure love making sound makes these 2 great songs to me. I am now listening to more. Damn 23 year old kid. Lol
