Dhaka Elevated Expressway is Bangladesh's first elevated expressway project, which will connect the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport with Jatrabari Kutub Khali starting from Kawla, Kuril, Banani, Mohakhali, Tejgaon, Hatirjheel, Moghbazar, Kamalapur, Sayedabad and Jatrabari of Dhaka. It is one of the largest infrastructure projects taken up by the present government to ease traffic congestion in the capital. It will be 19.73 km long and 46.73 km with the connecting ramps. On September 2, 2023, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina ceremoniously opened the Airport-Farmgate section of the Dhaka Elevated Expressway. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the 11.5 km Airport-Farmgate section of the 19.73 km Dhaka Elevated Expressway, a pioneering infrastructure project in Bangladesh. This development holds great promise for alleviating traffic congestion and shortening commuting times in the capital city. Commuters were thrilled to be able to cover the distance between Kawla Airport and Farmgate in just 10-15 minutes, with speeds reaching up to 60 km per hour.

Karwan Bazar ramp of the Expressway was opened for transport movement on 20 March 2024. With this, 16 ramps of the expressway are open.
Recently We went to Uttra sector-6 through this elevated expressway from Bijoy Shoroni to Airport and enjoyed the journey a lot. It saved a lot of time from normal roads. On the other hand it was safe & easy though we paid Tk.80/- per trip. It was a happy journey.
