The fume dial is extremely attractive. H. Moser & Cie is the master of fume dials. Great review Tim!

I have one of these. Mine is on the deployant clasp. Lovely little watch.

Very similar to the Zenith Pilot 20 (which I prefer and has a better size of 40mm).

This crown is way more ergonomic and the dial is miles ahead here. Z is a great one too. Cheers

@@rfgf72 I personally don't think a fumé dial has any place on a pilot's watch which is all about utility, but to each his own, of course.

Agree your last sentence - and I’m not a pilot, so the idea of a tool is as relevant to me - and other non pilots - as the (subjective) beauty and execution/finishing of the piece. Both watches are great and both have a place in the market. They are on different levels. As are other pilots under the Z price wise (Oris, Sinn,…). Cheers.

@@rfgf72 Sure, it's all subjective, of course. But in my mind this design is mixing two completely different worlds and creating something half-bred. It's got nothing to do with being a pilot or not but with speaking a coherent and consistent design language. To me, the Moser is a bit like putting Swarowski crystals on your hiking boots. It's a hard look to pull off, but if you can, more power to you.

@@sardendibs We are in the realm of the subjective. But if a fume dial is an issue on a high end pilot watch, then you should have a problem w polished cases and sunburst (shiny) dials - and that’s Z, IWC, Breitling, etc. I see room for fume, sunburst, and more utilitarian dials as well as different price points and levels of execution (as in the case here, the Z and the H M). Cheers.
