H&N Heavy Slugs tests with Delta Wolf

Testing out the new H&N Heavy Slugs with Delta Wolf and the 34 & 36gr showed potential to be accurate at 50 yards. These slugs definitely prefer higher speed, but unfortunately the Delta Wolf's setting was set at 33gr pellet weight and my friend hasn't had a chance to make the adjustments with the build in system. Hopefully next time out we can push these slugs faster to see if the groupings improve.

yes nice to be able to test other gun(s) with these heavy slugs. At least we now know they can be shot well at 800-825fps with the 36gr. More testings to come. Thanks for watching.

Interesting that the shooter didn't notice the drops in POI as slug weight went up until he got to 40 gr.

Delta Wolfe or impact m3 if only could choose 1?

my choice would be M3 lol. A lot more options to customize than the Delta Wolf.

just an advice, run 2 or 3 patches when changing slug type and also season the barrel before evaluating!!

Understood. It was a preliminary test anyway. I just received more slugs and the .218 size. I will increase the speed and compare the .217 and .218 with my Impact MK2. Stay tuned and thanks for watching.

I note all slugs were 0.22 hollow points, do H & N produce 0.25 solid projectiles without hollow point. secondly, what was the FPE from this Wolf?

I don't think H&N made non-hollow slugs. My gun is the FX Impact. It was about 50ft.lb. Thanks for watching.

Thank you for your video. Definitely, speeds needs to be 960 fps plus. You will see a big difference. Up to 1010 fps.

Thank you for your input Jose. I will definitely push them a bit faster to shoot the 34gr slugs. My Impact MK2 is only 600mm so I am not sure if I want to push the reg too high. I am currently at 140 Bar and getting 875 fps with decent grouping at 50 yards and not too bad at 100 yards.

Try 146/147 bar and 900 to 925 fps. They can handle it. 👍

Man that's one of the biggest features, being able to dial in you specs this test was pointless honestly no offence but I thought you would have known that. It would be interesting to to see it done properly. Cheers mate

All good. I know it wasn't a fair comparison between the two rifles especially his Delta Wolf wasn't set up for slugs shooting. But it was still fun to shoot against each other.

Yes, I saw that mistake when I was editing the video where he loaded the magazine and went to top up the tank walking in front of the muzzle. Sometimes we just make simple and potentially deadly mistake like that. It has been discussed and acknowledged. Hopefully this would remind us all to be safer. Thank you for pointing that out.

yeah, we spoke about that after my video editing. Something we should never do. Luckily his Delta has an automatic safety that locks. He would have to release the safety before taking the shot.
